Has this always happened ever since you've had the game, or only since when?

Does it happen to both cloud and local saves?

What antivirus app do you use?

Did SFC scannow find anything to fix?

Maybe try a .NET repair too:

Then there must be some difference in the mods you two use. Try both of you enabling one mod at a time, to see which one is triggering the checksum difference.

Please try this:

- exit the Steam app entirely
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

Note that you can run stellaris.exe directly from Windows Explorer, which bypasses the launcher.

Not sure I've seen that Windows error c06d007e before. If you exit the Steam app entirely and run stellaris.exe directly from Windows Explorer, what happens? Any error show then?

What antivirus do you use? Add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

Please go here

If still no good:

Then my guess is you actually have a Steam problem. Please do a full **clean** re-install of Steam and game:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- exit the Steam app completely
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox/Stellaris folders
- delete everything in the Steam folder EXCEPT steam.exe and the SteamApps folder
- run steam.exe to rebuild all that
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

I'm not aware of this as a known problem. If you revert to an older game version (that used to work) do you still see this?

In the game launcher please set Display mode to Borderless.

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

Also if you have FRAPS or the MSI Gaming App or Rivatuner installed,... Read more

Blutvogt said: If i start the game direct from the directory, the game close immediate without any problem.

Starting the launcher through steam and closing again (no game start) makes no problem.
What should happen is when you run the game from our launcher, the launcher itself terminates. I've seen cases where that didn't happen but not recently. Are you seeing any of these processes still in Task Manager?

dowser.exe
bootstrapper-v2.exe
paradox launcher.exe
cefprocess.exe
stellaris.exe

What launcher version do you see? Current is 2020.15

If you run the game from stellaris.exe directly instead of from the launcher, does this still happen?

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods
- delete the folder Documents/paradox/Stellaris/mod/
- delete the file Documents/paradox/Stellaris/mods_registry.json
- delete the file Documents/paradox/Stellaris/launcher-v2.sqlite
- subscribe to a few mods
- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you!

Any mods involved?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

No dxdiag there but I think you have an old nVidia driver in use; if so please update it from here:

Not sure if this is a bug or a local installation issue. Can you attach the affected saved game here please?

I've seen this with various video drivers. Was there an update of that just before this first happened?
