Are these mods from Steam, our mod site, or local?

If Steam or our site, do they physically end up in the Documents/paradox/Stellaris/mod/ folder?

Does this happen with every single mod you try? Or just one or some?

2020.15 just came out , did that apply?

If so you should try that process from post #2 again please.

Hi! Thank you for the report - though you may have slightly overplayed the seriousness of the issue. ;)

Either way, had a look at it and don't think that the problem is quite there (though I can see your interpretation) - it's essentially saying that once the scientist used the data to adjust the orbit and planetary position, the indicator beams were suddenly converging on another planet in the system.

That said, looking over the text I spotted two other grammatical issues that could need fixing, so have forwarded that (as well as your issue in case the writers disagree with me) internally for a text update.

What launcher version are you on? Latest is 2020.14

No real idea what could cause that. Let's try a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods
- delete the folder Documents/paradox/Stellaris/mod/
- delete the file Documents/paradox/Stellaris/mods_registry.json
- delete the file Documents/paradox/Stellaris/launcher-v2.sqlite
- subscribe to a few mods
- in the Steam betas tab for this game opt into the "stellaris_test" version which is 2.8.1
- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you!

Are you on the current launcher version 2020.14 or something older?

They should be available to you like they are for everyone else. When did they disappear for you? Are there any mods in use here?

Hello there and thankyou for the report. We are aware of the issue and have just released an update to the 2.8.1 beta patch that should resolve the issue. Please give it a try and report back if the issue persists.

Fairly clearly something is preventing the game from writing this file out. What antivirus app do you use?

Add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

You may need to add steam.exe and C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2020.14/paradox launcher.exe to that list.

Hello and thankyou for the report. While I appreciate the frustration with the issues you are experiencing, the bug report section of this forum functions best when posts are kept to just information relevant to the report. Please keep this in mind for the future.

For the Mods loading slowly issue, we are aware of the issue and are working towards a solution. We are also aware of the stuttering issue while paused and playing music.

If you have any additional issues please let us know.

Thankyou.

Can you do a test install on some other machine, to see if the problem happens there too?

I wasn't, no. I'm trying to help that user diagnose why his ugc files are not appearing, when they are for me and presumably everyone else.

As you think apparently our developers are lying or lazy, this conversation is over.

GKPecap said: Now I can load the game without mods, but it gets stuck with them at 30%, and they are all updated and in correct load order too.
Can you pin it down to any particular mod by a process of elimination?

I guess the ones that fail must have something in common as mods, but what that might be I have no idea, knowing nothing about mods. And why do they fail on your setup but not for others with the same code?

Can you try setting these to run as the Windows Admin user?
dowser.exe (in the GoG Stellaris folder)
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/bootstrapper-v2.exe
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2020.14/paradox launcher.exe
