The "Attach Files" button here is the preferred way, FYI.

Right click on stellaris.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate to refresh rate 60.

Is that any better?

I haven't seen other reports of that specific problem.

Is this in a new galaxy started since the patch , or one left over from previous patches, or both?

In the launcher, go to Game Settings, and ensure that your resolution is set correctly. Also switch between Borderless, fullscreen or windowed mode. Since we've also recently transitioned to DX11, you can try updating your video drivers.

If that doesn't help:, Please do a full clean re-install:

move any valued save games elsewhere, and user empire designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
"uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no fi... Read more

I don't know if GoG have a Verify files option in Galaxy. If not, all you can really do is uninstall the game, delete all remaining files, then install it again.

Are you both on a higher UI scaling setting? Does reducing that help, if so?

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

At 60hz the game should not be able to overheat your GPU. What actual fps are you seeing in the main menu, then in the game itself?

Still unable to duplicate this.

If you have access to a VPN, does that get past the problem for you? OR if you are using a VPN already, does unloading that get past the problem?

Jariah Synn said: That did the trick. Still they should look into fixing it. I prefer to keep my game Fullscreen bordered. I'm positive I'm not the only one.
You aren't, we'll fix it soon as we can.

Ah, that is usually an antivirus app getting in the way. What antivirus app do you use? You need to make sure all these apps are in its exceptions lists:

stellaris.exe and dowser.exe (in the Steam Stellaris folder)
C:/users/{username}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2023.6/paradox launcher.exe
C:/users/{username}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/bootstrapper-v2.exe

IF that doesn't help, also set each of those .exe files (EXCEPT stellaris.exe !) to run as the Windows Admin user.

Then the game should run from Steam/our launcher, and enable all the DLCs.

IF that still doesn't help, Right click on Documents in the left column of File Explorer, just under This PC there. Go to properties, location. What does it say in there?

Mod errors in that log; please disable ALL mods while we work on this.

Dragazhar said: Crashed after opening Stellaris.exe properties and ticking Disable fullscreen optimizations in Compatibility tab and going in the launcher to change to fullscreen. turn Vsync off and cap framerate
That pdx_settings.txt shows borderless, try fullSCreen there. Any better? After that can we get a new pdx_settings.txt AND the settings.txt , thanks.

If this worked on your old machine but not the new one, it is clearly not a bug in our game or launcher! It is absolutely the responsibility of Xbox to get items in your Xbox account online installed on your PC, we are simply not involved in that process.

I did get this from one affected Gamepass user:

In case anyone else had issues when they purchased the season pass from gamepass.
The season pass shows no downloads and the dlc by itself looks like you need to purchase it.
Click the dlc and click the purchase.
It’ll change and say you own this already.
Click the same box that now says you own this already and it’ll ask you to download it.
Do the download and boom it finally adds
You need to do it for all DLC downloads.

Please let us know if that... Read more

You have a problem with your nVidia driver or card:
Fault bucket LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys_Ampere_UserOC, type 0
Event Name: LiveKernelEvent
- uninstall their driver and all other nVidia software
- reboot
- install their latest from here https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
- reboot again

Good luck!

FYI if you are expecting Steam DLCs to appear in the MS edition, and/or vice versa, that is not possible I'm afraid. Each store's DLCs can only work with its base game.

I don't know what could cause that, but it's clearly something outside the games. Has this always happened, or it used to be okay up to some point?

What is your Windows desktop resolution? Best to set the games to use that same resolution, at fullScreen.

If that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

We've seen devices like joysticks and Xbox game controllers cause this, but not Razer gear up until now. All I can really suggest is to check with them for updates drivers, as most of yours seem to date from 2022 at present.

Good luck!
