@Ravst To confirm Origin and EA are the same things, Origin is EA's PC platform to purchase/play PC games. However, in creating an Origin account (If you created an account through the Client or Site) or creating an EA account (through a console, or another EA site) will make the either.
So if you were playing Apex on Steam, it would have already been connected to an EA/Origin account. You would have been able to sign into Origin client using that account.
If you then purchase PvZ and tried had linked an account, I would guess either you signed out of the first account which would give the appearance of wiping your apex progress since it would be pulling a new accounts data that would not have progress, or you may have unlinked your first EA accoun...
