Can we also try setting a different DNS on your PS5 to see if that makes any difference?
You can update the DNS using the steps below:
1. Open the PS5 Settings
2. Select Network
3. Select Settings
4. Select Set Up Internet Connection

Thank you for letting me know! I'm glad to hear you were able to figure out what was happening.
It works that way for other platform accounts like PlayStation or Xbox, but as far as I know the same thing wouldn't happen for Steam. Your account progress matches up for Steam and Origin, unlike the console platforms.

In order to play Apex Legends in Steam it would need to be connected with an EA Account. If you were to unlink the Steam account from your EA Account, the next time you try playing Apex Legends it's going to ask you to connect it with an EA Account.
As far as your game progress, you shouldn't actually lose anything by unlinking a Steam account. Since your progress on Steam is the same progress as what you would have in Origin, it should still be there on your account.

Is your friend already on your friends list, or are you trying to add them for the first time?
If they're already on your friends list, and you're having trouble sending them invites to play, can you try removing and re-adding them to your friends list to see if that helps?

Those dive trails are supposed to be temporary, but we're still working on sorting out some issues that are causing them to stick around longer than they're supposed to. So right now people may still have them, but they will most likely expire some time in the future when the issues are fixed.
