@bksturm I can confirm that only the Jomsviking's used for River Raids can upgrade their rank, the Community Jomsviking's that you can recruit in game do not have ranks.

You can also recruit Community Jomsviking's for River Raids in the Jomsviking Hall, however these will always be level 1 even if the other player has been using them for River Raids and has levelled up their rank. They may also not appear in the hall at times, you can ring the bell outside the Jomsviking Hall to refresh the Jomsviking's available inside.

@daemon9 I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing crashes and glitches whilst playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Can you please go through the Xbox One troubleshooting if you haven't already done so then try again.

With regards to the glitch when dismounting your horse, can you confirm the following:

  • How often you experience it?

I'm pleased to hear that you have completed the game and were able to fully upgrade your settlement.

We are aware that some players have experienced issues with Xbox controllers disconnecting whilst playing the game on PC. It's possible that the controller is disconnecting then reconnecting. Do you have the drivers updated for your controller? You also mentioned that you have other USB devices plugged in, can you try unplugging those apart from your mouse and keyboard then launch the game and try again to see if the issue persists.

@nikdbeli I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with Assassin's Creed Valhalla crashing.

If you haven't already, could you please go through the Xbox One troubleshooting then try again. Also ensure you have the latest update installed for the game.

@quentin59118 I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues opening a door in one of the quests.

Could you please provide some further information about this issue:

  • What is the name of the quest you are referring to? Is it 'Sister of Sorrow'?
  • Did you encounter any issues during the quest, such as the game crashing or did you suspend the game for a while?
  • Have you tried loading a previous save before you started the quest? If not please try and complete the quest again


If it is not possible to load a previous save or if the issue persists then can you also provide a video to show that you cannot unlock the door and that you have the key in your inventory.

I have reported the issues for the shields and the sail. For the Rush and Bash ability issue, if you happen to experience this again could you please record a video and post it on this thread and we will be happy to report it to the development team.

With regards to the Jomsviking's, I am looking into this for you, however to my knowledge the Community Jomsvking's that you can recruit in the open world do not have ranks and only the Jomsviking's used for River Raids do. I will update this thread once I have confirmed this....

@bksturm Thanks for the list of issues you have reported, we appreciate it.

I have responded to each of the issues you raised below:

  1. Can you confirm if this is happening for a particular shield or multiple? We are already aware of an issue when the red dragon shield is selected it displays a different design in game. If you have seen other shields with this issue then please provide a video as an example.

@gladi8ordude I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with Reda's contracts. We have had some other reports of issues with Reda's contract auto completing.

Can you provide more information about the contract in question and why it's not working and what the objective is. And you also mentioned you completed two of Reda's quests and they have not registered, do you mean these still remain in your quest log or you didn't receive a reward for completing them?

I have watched the video several times and I am struggling to see what you mean by the grass shimmering.

Do you experience this in every location? And does it only happen to grass that's further away from you? I can see you also mentioned that the beard is shimmering too, can you also provide an example of this please along with another example of the grass if you can.
