I can confirm there is currently an ongoing issue with Ubisoft connect rolling back AC Valhalla to 1.3.0. This is currently under investigation.

That's great, that's all the info I needed on that, thank you.

If you're able, could you also answer the following questions:

  • Have you played the game on any other platforms?
  • Did you experience a crash beforehand?


Could you upload a clip of a manual save being attempted, so I can check which sound effect is played? You can use a file sharing site like Google drive, or YouTube for this.

When you have a look at already existing saves, are you having any 'data corrupt' error messages at all?

Could I also check that in-game, you're seeing the update version as 1.3.1?

Can I confirm that the most recent update has been downloaded and installed?
Does this issue remain after saving the game, closing and reloading? Failing this would you be able to try restarting the console too?

Sorry to hear you've not been able to progress further with this quest.

If you travel to Donecaestre to try and start the quest without it tracking, is Halfdan there?

This is an ongoing issue, and we're currently collecting reports from players who are having this problem. Would you be able to make sure that your most recent save is available as a cloud save?
Once this is done, we'll forward this report to the team.

Extra information on new issues is always welcome. If you are able to record a video if this happens again, we'll pass this on too.

Good to know reloading a save that gets rid of the quest, or finishing the quest, might be a workaround for players having this problem.

Thanks for getting in touch, and sorry to hear about the constant thunder rumble.

Due to your post title it's safe to assume this is an issue that has only presented itself after this update?
Would you be able to see if this issue persists after restarting the game, and failing this restarting the console?
Lastly, could you try disabling all audio in the settings, then saving and reloading the save and enabling the audio again.

Let us know if any of the above have an effect on this issue!
