This is very unclear in-game. The UX is pretty bad for this menu. You should at least display a message that you need Club Access, or need to have joined a Club to see this feature, not show an empty screen. It looks like a bug when it isn't.

Can the limit how many KB of items can be embedded inside a map be increased or removed?
Currently, this limit is still 1 MB which is tricky to stay under especially how more detailed/complex the blocks are compared to Maniaplanet environments. One of the popular use cases for using the Mesh Modeler is by basing newly created items and custom blocks on existing blocks.
On top of that, in Trackmania (2020), the titlepack system is no more, so the only way to make use of items is by embedding them inside the map which this limit relates to.
A suggestion would be to increase this to 10 MB or even remove the limit completely. For online, this might have an impact, although the use of custom signs and skins a...

This has happened twice over the course of three weeks and it's been really really frustrating. Sometime, randomly during the match, the entire game will freeze and stutter. I will hear intermittent comms and then silence. Then it just says "Connection to game lost."
