Knives aren't about staggering enemies. If you want to stagger them, use clubs or sledgehammers. Knives aren't for standing and fighting, it's for playing keep away and for one shot assassination of the unaware.

Knives are about inflicting DoT's with your attacks and then staying out of arms reach while they bleed to death. With a high knife skill, a single power attack will slam 4 or so bleed stacks on a zombie and more often than not, that is enough to kill a zombie over the course of it's duration.

Alpha A19.2 Stable is out! Along with some great fixes we enabled Steel Series’s game sense feature, allowing Steel Series Mouse and keyboard users to have some ingame events tied to their hardware LED lights.

You could mod it, or find an existing mod that makes this change (see the Modding sub-forum). But you might instead go to the wasteland biome, where there's no rest period after clearing the roaming zombies before they appear again.

Nah, there are surely others still playing Alpha 16.4. It's the most developed version with learn-by-doing people are going to get. The later alphas are a significant departure in terms of design, and that was a deal breaker for some players. That's not to say the current version isn't more popular, though.

It might not even go into A20 so I'm not really going to talk about it yet. Its concepts and paper design at the moment and requires code to work. I'm just saying what I'm working on and it could be A21.

I have been taking a very big break from the game so I've been out of touch with the updates. Would you know what use does the drone have? Is it an attack drone?

At least, that's what has been hinted at so far. Until they start the a20 Dev Diary there really isn't much information outside of what you can scrape from the developer streams, or the current a19 dev diary[community.7daystodie.com].
