There are no trigger points per se. The sleeper zombies are grouped within volumes, and they spawn when you get within a set distance of that volume. The level designers do their best to place the zombies so they’re spawned by the time you have a line of sight to them, but there are some weirdly shaped rooms, and they can’t stop you from busting through some random wall to open up a new line of sight.

One thing that helps here is that, new in Alpha 19, you have yellow icons on your compass and map highlighting where your vehicles are.

If you want help with the crashes themselves, please refer to the pinned thread in the Bug/Crash Reports sub-forum for how to report an issue.

Iron tools are either hand crafted or made in a work bench; None of them are crafted IN the forge- so looking at the recipe in the forge will only show what recipes allow you to craft it.

Craft a wood frame and access the shape menu via holding R. Keep an eye out for that shape menu icon on items in your inventory, as it indicates when they have one.

Thing is, Autosaves for most other games are in the realm of hundreds of kilobytes, or a few dozen megabytes at the largest. So most people don't care if those games have multiple auto-saves.

7DTD on the other hand Starts at 100-200mb, and can grow towards if not past 1gb with ease. Having several autosaves would take up a rather excessive amount of space, all considered- while manual backups is at the users own judgement... Plus auto-saving such huge files isn't exactly fast, and would no doubt cause performance drops.

But I think the issue is more that the method of saving in 7DTD is constant- Every step you take, block you break, bit of exp you gain is saved. Not sure how well such a streaming save method would work with backups mid gameplay.

That said, I think A, singular, backup autosave would be nice..At the very least upon loading up, if not during actual gameplay, so if you DO lose progress, it's only a few hours worth instead of the en... Read more

It's a survival RPG. It'd be surprising if it didn't have stamina. You could make the same argument that limited carrying capacity, or even other core stats like food & water, are also "we want you to play but actually don't" mechanics.

If you're just standing around, there's no polite way to say this... you're doing it wrong. I feel like stamina is fully integrated into many areas of the game at this point, and there are a huge number of ways to mitigate it in different scenarios:
  • Use drinks that temporarily raise your stamina recovery.
  • Use good food to temporarily raise your max stamina.
  • Use skills that permanently lower stamina usage in particular activities.
  • Use skills that provide a stamina bonus, typically on zombie kill.
  • Use a lighter/more primitive tool until you can handle a heavier, more stamina-intensive one.
  • Use mods on your tools to make them more ...

If you really want to see one get something like 12 campfires going at once and wait a bit.

Hmm. I recently acquired an auger for the first time in my A19 game. I spent the better part of one day mining oil shale and nitrates with it (enough to process into 100,000 units of gas). I expected the screamers to come flocking, based on what players like you have reported, but I never got even one.

This is the expected result for the built-in map generator. The good news, besides the emergence of third party tools like Nitrogen, is that the current world generation is temporary and should be improved as development continues.

Possibly dumb question, But you're interacting with and attempting to craft inside the workbench's menu, right? Not just standing by the workbench and trying to craft it from your inventory?

Thank you. Unfortunately that error message isn't enough to know what the problem is. Please post your log file. I'll move this thread to the bugs section.

Yes there is. You can locate Config/entityclasses.xml and lower the "CrouchYOffsetFP" property under "playerMale". I agree that it looks bad now. We have a Modding sub-forum at your disposal if you'd like to learn more.

Would be kinda cool to have them running down your gauntlet of turrets and sawblades.

That's what your 'friends' are for. :cozyroe: Back in A16 I believe it was, when I played coop seriously, all my hours of planning out the ideal defenses to slow and redirect zombies to a safe distance away from me was overshadowed by my teammates. All they needed was a piece of flat ground to engage in a melee. That meant zombies ignored me in my carefully designed sniper tower, as I was the more distant target. Anyway, as others have said you're supposed to be able to throw rocks or snowballs to distract a zombie's attention. They seem to pause for missed arrows too, but those are more expensive.

Thanks, my kids love scary things, TV shows, movies, games. My wife and I try to find things that they enjoy but that are still kid appropriate in other aspects. We just don't take the kids to the traders lol

They're not all bad. Rekt's potty mouth gives the rest of the traders a bad rep. This could change in a future version though.

Sure, it's up to the player to figure out how to reinforce it so it will be solid and structurally sound, but that's easier said than done, and can still leave it weak for zeds to take down.

I found this out once on one of these bridges also. I walked up to it and just struck it once with a stone ax and the whole thing collapsed, on a new map and on day 1. :steamhappy:

I don't know the developer's original intentions. But if I had to guess, I suspect th... Read more

If you generate a random map, you have the option of generating it at 4K or 8K size. Navezgane is in between, at about 6K. Maps take a long time to generate, so you could also go with one of the pregen maps.

You're most likely overloading your Vram and causing the LOD to screw up. Lower your graphical settings- Specifically Texture Quality takes a huge amount of Vram; 8gb at the highest setting, 4gb at half, 2gb at quarter.

Without knowing your exact settings and computer setup I can't offer much more info than that.

The devs may be cheating with their buildings. Not just because structural integrity isn't computed until something is disturbed, but with actual magic blocks that defy normal SI rules. You can cheat too if you want, with "Floatation Block" and "Floatation Pillar 100" which are available at least in the POI editor. The description for these blocks says "This block will provide full support no matter where it is placed, just like it was placed on bedrock."

As for working within the system... some of your screenshots aren't working, but you should remove the dead weight. Those wooden catwalks on top aren't helping. Neither are most of the ramp blocks.

I would suggest starting with a flat, horizontal beam that covers the span. Make it out of 100% metal rivet blocks - you can paint it later if you have to. You should be able to extend 16 blocks from each side at max, which looks possible when eyeballing it. Don't do a support column, because you want to know... Read more
