Eco does not overwrite configs on updates since several versions, only the .template files are overwritten, so whatever changes your configs, it's not Eco. (Also make sure that you actually press the save button if you change stuff via the Server UI and note that the settings are global for all worlds, so if you create a new world with different settings, the old worlds will also have these)

In regards to the disconnect symbol for /serverui I'll have some tries to reproduce made, thanks for the report. Did you tab out of the game to check if the UI did open nontheless?

Do you have any antivirus software? Make sure to make an exception for Eco, it tends to get flagged errornousely on bigger updates and prevent installation of parts of it.

Other than that if there is a missing internet connection reported at installation that might be a case for Steam support.

We unfortunately don't have an ETA yet.

Connection errors like this are usually caused by either local security software (make sure to turn antivirus off or make an exception for Eco) or issues on the way to our servers. There is currently no outage of the authentication servers known.

Oh, so it indeed was that - I assumed you had already checked that given you said that in the opening post. "None" means you are not using any beta branch, which automatically means you get the normal released version, currently 9.5. Glad you got it solved :)

Didn't recommend that as they mentioned that they already checked that.

Fixing overcrowding mechanics and natural animal and plant spawning are scheduled for Update 10, given it needs a full remake of its base mechanics which is not trivial enough for the intermediate updates and will likely not be savegame compatible. (And we try to not break compatibility of savegames for the intermediate updates)

I cannot reproduce this - and obviously noone else so far either -, is there anything special, you using a special OS or something? If not, I'd reach out to Steam support, I don't think there is anything we could do.

That is actually not an intended feature, but technically a display bug.
I'll see if we can support that 'officially', but it would definitely not happen before 9.6.
Is there more broken ones?

Case of the item name is important, the correct way to do it is

The image is just an artistic interpretation of 'strange worlds' and does not resemble anything ingame at all. (It is intended for modded servers) I did indeed misunderstood what you mean, I thought you saw a world doing that, sorry for that.

Which icons aren't working? Icons are working fine on our test world, any specific icons you have issues with?

SpecialtyExperienceDivisor was removed several updates ago and is no longer used. Your server host should no longer have that, I guess they didn't update the configs from the templates.

If you rollback you have to restore a backup of your world (from 9.4.6) manually!

You can find the directory with your worlds and their backups in \steamapps\common\Eco\Eco_Data\Server\

Usually your world is saved in a directory named "Storage" plus your world name.
(e.g. in directory "Storage - MyWorld" in files "MyWorld.eco" and "MyWorld.db")
Within this directory there is another directory called "Backup".
There you have to find a backup which was created before updating to 9.5.
Copy "MyWorld.db" and "MyWorld.eco" to "Storage - MyWorld" replacing the files there.

I don't think our world generator can do that, sounds like it was created manually by admins. Hand crafted worlds are currently not yet possible.

It is not possible to show the trades of others outside the newsfeed, this works as intended.

This is now possible via configuration option at world creation or in Difficulty.eco, it's no longer necessary to use mods for that, as long as you want to change growth time for all plants via a single multiplicator.

You need four empty blocks in between, making for a distance of five meters. The value is configurable for single player and server admins, but we don't recommend a value below 3. Tree farms were a major source of client lag and physic issues due to players placing trees overlapping and clipping in each other. The change resembles the natural world generation and how things worked back when overcrowding was still a thing, just in a less 'mechanicy' way. When we rewor... Read more
