We have never supported Linux clients, we provide the build as-is without warranty and support. Same for Mac. They get no active development, only occasional treatment.

See our official support list:

Support Status of Eco on different Operating Systems

Windows 10+ (64 Bit): Supported.

Windows 10+ (32 Bit): Supported until Update 9.6 - No longer supported or provided for later Updates.

Linux: Unsupported. Development builds available and provided as-is without warranty. We recommend to use Proton. (Server: Supported.)

Mac without M1: Unsupported. Development builds available and provided as-is without warranty.

Mac with M1: Unsupported. Development builds not working at all.

Steam Deck: Unsupported. Compatibility: Playable, no adjustments made. Windows: Works. Linux: Development build available and provided as-is without warranty.

We're not seeing major problems with achievements yet. The "Dilettante" achievement is gained for creating culture via the pictures in frames, not a statue - they don't give any culture.

Any other achievements not working, ignoring the tracking?

Thank you for the report, we'll take a look at this. Unfortunately the issue is not reproducable for us, so we may need to get back to you to request specific information or help us out with testing a custom build. Would you be willing to do that?

Eco is made for experiences on public servers, where there is indeed people around all the time. If you're into such systems and like to get into added complexity beyond the bare vanilla experience, the official server "White Tiger" starting tomorrow is a good start - it makes extreme use of government and civic systems, but also has a pretty complex setup to do so. You can find all information on it on our discord: https://discord.gg/eco. This specific official server has specific progression and a endgame recipe that is extremely difficult and requires all of the hundreds of players to get together until the very last day. You also get Universal Basic Income for a easier start and consistently being able to follow your own goals as well. No... Read more

No, that still works like before. Unfortunately we're not able to reproduce this issue, can you reach out to [email protected], you will likely need to attach your savegame and your configs, depending on what they need.

That is a different issue with load on our website we're working on. You can join the discord at https://discord.gg/eco to be informed regularly about the status in the #news channel.

Yes, though that is unrelated to this topic where settlements are not enabled. You can find the setting in Settlements.eco:

"MinCitizensToFoundSettlement": [3, 12, 25],

Town, Country, Federation

This is a known issue at twitch, we were told it will fix itself after a while, so waiting is currently the only option when affected.

They work the same as before, but waterwheels and windmills provide very little power amount now, so you need to use a steam engine. The range of mechanical power was increased to be the same range as for electrical power :)

This is a QA command and works as intended.

Only been playing for a day and I'm loving it!

We don't support the client on linux, which is why Steamdeck doesn't run well. It works when using Windows on the Deck quite okay I heard, though.

You get further claims on levelups of your character in singleplayer, you can also just spawn some in like you were used to with /give claimpaper and /give claimstake. The old ones are simply preserved as is and not changeable. General recommendation is a new save on major updates, though.

The issues you describe only affect worlds from Update 9.7. Migration to 10 only ensures loadability - the versions are too incompatible for anything more as tons of things changed (which is also the reason why your machines now work differently, that is not broken but intended changes). We recommend to start a new save for new major versions in general.

You can turn on building on deep ocean in Difficulty.eco file:
"AllowDeepOceanBuilding": false,

Set it to true.

On a local world you have administrator permissions. Try /eat to fill your calories, then /fly to get out. Is there a specific way you achieved this, I can't reproduce the effect myself.

The reason we can't currently support GeForce Now is that we cannot use Steam Cloud which is required for that support on Steam. Steam Cloud doesn't work with our savegames being dedicated server (worlds) and the size they go.

I have mentioned in my post above why it was changed. The plan didn't work out.

The fix for banks is already made, it will go out with the first hotfix.

Sad cuz then there are games like icarus that has 2 different skill tree, one specifically made for single player peeps.

Hopefully they do the same with eco one day. With the newest eco 10 update i think you cant even expand your land plots without having an actual town started with multiple people, which absolutely kills the game for us single player folks. How am i gonna expand if its limited by some game mechanic that relies on multiple people? I guess ill just go f**k myself instead of playing this game. Cuz this game aint sp friendly at all.

I cant be bothered dealing with capitalist and economy and coorporate mumbo jumbo bullshit. The game plays and feels great to play as a survival game by itself, i just wish it could give a lil m...
