Hello everyone!

Please remember to keep conversations civil. There has been a fairly significant number of inflammatory posts in this thread, which seems to be getting only more heated. The debate of how casual a game should be is an important conversation to be had, and having an extended debate to it can help bring out some of the reasons ‘why’ it may feel more “grindy” than intended for some players.

So we do support the conversation, only it needs to be a civil discourse. Because this thread has been so inflammatory, I will be closing it, however please do feel free to start up a new civil thread regarding your thoughts on how casual vs. hardcore you think LE should be.

We love seeing the passion for the game and providing feedback to help us improve Last Epoch, however, please remember to remain respectful of other users.

I'm not sure what became of it but I did see the back end guys working on the issue after your last post. I'm hoping that this is the cause of all the rubberbanding reports that we couldn't make heads or tails of.

It does have the PlayStation button prompts but because it's going through an Nvidia device, I suspect that it will force the Xbox buttons. We don't have a way for you to manually select which you want.

I can post the screenshot of the email for validation. There's still a lot of people that have to use a VPN to play. I'm promise I'm not trying to sound rude, but isn't there a possibility that there's not a widespread issue because a lot of those people gave up(like I did)

Everything worked flawlessly until about the 3rd patch after release. I wrote down the exact patch that broke my game and fixed everyone else's. This is the only game in the last 5 years to do this, and I really wish I didn't enjoy the game so much, because it makes it that much more disappointing.

By chance would you be able to find the exact patch release that did this for you? Perhaps you sent a ticket in on the day that it happened? There may have been backend deployments that were not client-facing around that same time so having a specific time or window that you’re certain of could help us take a look there.

Also, what is the fail state exactly? You get an LE 65 or infinite load?

A release version of a game should have a complete story arc and a decent endgame. That’s not to say that more story or endgame features cant or won’t be developed later, but in my opinion calling the release of a game 1.0 that doesn’t include the above just doesn’t really feel like a full release.

EHG might be calling this 1.0 (or whatever the current version is), but personally I won’t consider LE out of early access until as a minimum the story is completed. Looking at the roadmap, it doesn’t even look like this will be the case after 1.4 releases.

That means one year post-release we still probably won’t have a finished campaign.

It's not unkind, I just disagree that a complete campaign is required to exist for 1.0. And it's ok that we disagree on that.

It's not quite the same thing but we did add the boots that make it super hard mode that work from level 1.

The vast majority of the feedback that we get tells us very clearly that end game content is dramatically more valuable overall than story content. So leading up to 1.0, that was our main focus. 1.0 was the first version where we had all of our planned classes available and our end game was feeling like a proper end game set of systems.

With a live service model game, the story will always be expanding and evolving. It's hard to draw a line and say that at any one point is where the story is "ready for release".

We considered many scenarios and plans for a path to 1.0 in very specific detail. We are very pleased with our decision and hindsight being 20/20, I would do it again just the same.

This is actually why parry was added in the first place. We wanted to give minion builds some prefixes to care about on weapons.

Hello Travelers,

We are aware that there are currently some fairly large queues popping up for players. Our servers are currently undergoing rolling maintenance from May 20th to May 30th, which we were not expecting to result in an impact to online availability. We are working with our service providers to reduce this impact and get everyone in game again.

The queues are working as intended, so as servers become available, they should be processed. We apologize for the unexpected queues while we work to resolve this, and will provide further updates as available.


Update 2024-05-22T18:25:00Z: Queues should now be resolving, and we’ve seen regions already hitting zero again on queues. We will continue to monitor for interruptions during the maintenance period. Thank you for your patience.

Apologies that your'e encountering this, u/CourierClementine. There is not a widespread or known case of this any longer and the vast majority or people that we find have these issues are using a VPN (sometimes unknowingly) or have something configured in a unique way on their end.

To rule out some possibilities, if you have the ability to tether your computer internet to your phone's separate internet service temporarily and give it a shot you may find that it is or is not related to your internet settings.

I’m locking this thread as it has both taken a very poor turn, and gone so far off the rails it’s now part of the galactic federation.

Last Epoch is not a place to implement ideological change. It is not a place for social reform. It is a video game, where people go to escape from the real world and have fun slaying a bunch of evil monsters and getting loot. Real world politics, religion, and ideology are not only against the rules because they tend to create a lot of anger and vitriol, but because they have no place here to begin with.

Our rules are designed and implemented to try to make our community the most welcoming place it can be for as many people as possible, politics have nothing to do with it. To try to create a place where people can just have fun - because that’s what it’s all about. Fun.

The issue with the Wraithlord is the reason this bug was investigated and corrected. It’s possible other issues could have been caused by this, though I do not have a list. If you’re encountering any bugs, please do report them via the in-game bug report tool for the team to have a look at!

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where certain minions could enter a state where they can’t be affected by abilities, causing Wraithlords to get stuck endlessly trying to consume them

We have a potential fix in testing for the Wraithlord incidental bug that got added after fixing characters instantly reviving after death in rare instances.
