You say you don't use mods but there's a mod error in that log - are you 100% sure they are all disabled in the launcher?

Alicebis said: I tried everything from dx9 to dx12 and it didn't solve the issue.
Those logs show DX9 in use. The game does not use DX12 (so I don't know how you could have tried that?), but we should try DX11.
In your Steam Library right-click on this game and choose Properties. In the Launch Options line, paste this in there:
-dx11

If that doesn't change anything, I can only guess this is a ... Read more

If the launcher and game do not get good access to your Documents folder ( .local/share/Paradox\ Interactive/Stellaris/ ), you'll get these errors. This really seems like a Linux User permissions issue.

In a terminal command line session, navigate to the Steam/Stellaris folder and run ./stellaris manually. Does it start up that way? If not, what output do you see there?

  • And also remove the paradox launcher from Apps / Add Remove Programs - you may well have multiple copies.

Then also ensure you are removing

- C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/

:)
You've provided Windows-specific advice but the OP is on Linux, FYI.   ...

What if you make a new Windows user and log into it with that, do you get the same issue when the launcher tries to install then?

The standalone Paradox Launcher only shows Steam/Paradox games.

You need to install and play this game via the Xbox app.

All the best!

Right-click on stellaris.exe, properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullscreen optimizations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply, and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select the fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60

If that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Hi everyone!

This week we’ll be going over changes to Humanoids, Necroids, and more. We’ll also look at how habitats have changed over the past few weeks, and when you’ll get to play with them and give us direct feedback. (Spoiler: Now.)

First, I want to make a correction to the infographic we posted in Dev Diary #308[forum.paradoxplaza.com] - due to a misunderstanding, I had the “lava” and “geode” humanoid lithoids listed as two separate portraits in the infographic, but they’re going to be variants of the same portrait. I apologize for the error.

In our launcher Game Settings menu, choose Cross store MP. All your opponents will have to do the same, if on Steam.

Is that any better?

It looks like you've tried most of our standard troubleshooting tips, but we've got one more for you:

Manually delete /Stellaris/ and redownload:
-- (in Steam) Right Click Stellaris, Local Files, and click Browse. Delete the contents of the /Stellaris/ folder that opens (do *not* delete the /Stellaris/ folder in /Documents/, as it contains your save files and custom empires).

If your game doesn't work after you've done this and then reloaded, go to support.paradoxplaza.com and open a ticket. Customer Support will be happy to work with you!

Make a new Windows user on this machine and log into it with that. Go into the Windows Startup settings and disable everything you can, and reboot. Does it still happen?

If so, is there any overclocking active on this machine? If so try undoing that.

I was waiting for you to post on the results of the driver update you were going to do. I guess that did not help?

Does this happen right from the start of a new galaxy, or only in mid or late game play?

Does the size of galaxy matter?

Hi everyone, long thyme no see.

This week we’re continuing our exploration of the improvements the Custodian Team is making to Species Packs in the upcoming Stellaris 3.9 ‘Caelum’ Update, as well as some of the other stuff we’ve been up to.

Too much reading for a Thursday? Watch the video Dev Diary instead!

First up are some improvements to the Environmentalists civic.
Environmentalists Although the initial version of the Ranger Lodge and the Ranger jobs for the Environment civic were good, we felt that they could be improved upon.

Changes this civic has seen are:

  • The number of Ranger jobs provided by the Lodge now s...
