Have you tried lowering the polling rate on your mouse to see if that makes any difference? I've spoken with a few people who mentioned that helped with similar issues.

Do you have another Xbox account that you could sign into on your console? If so, what happens if you play Apex Legends on the other account? I'm curious if it would happen on a different account, or if it's specific to this one.

Looking at the DxDiag you attached I noticed a few system processes crashing in the diagnostics. When you have the chance could you try running the Windows System File Checker to test and see if that makes any difference?

I just wanted to confirm, because two accounts connected to the same EA Account aren't able to send invites. I was curious if that is what might have been happening in this case. 

 

Is your son's account set up as a child account?
