The game is awesome but i just feel the social part could be improved!

Agree entirely. We’ll make it happen

Thanks for the kind words. A lot of love from all the folks in the studio. I’m excited to have everyone get their hands on the release as there’s quite a lot more not available in the test builds. Cheers

There are definite wins we can make for load times before even getting into micro-optimizations. We’ve implemented some nice tech so that end game monolith zones load very quickly but we need to focus on campaign zone transitions next. It will improve between 0.9 and 1.0!

Very glad to hear that’s working for many of you! Though we can and will do more to make it even easier 👍

Just wanted to thank you all for joining us today for our first smaller stress test. The multiplayer events so far have been very helpful in finding areas for improvement, though overall we’re very happy with how our systems have been handling MP outside of a few pesky bugs. We know that opting in and switching branches on Steam is a bit of an ask, so again your participation is much appreciated by the entire team.

We do have more spots open for the MP testing week available and you can join us by following the instructions found here: https://events.lastepoch.com/packtheserverparty

Our larger stress test will occur on 2/23 and we’ll be putting out socials reminding everyone to come help us see if larger numbers break anything so that we can shore it...

I generally think the devs have made really good choices and added really good systems to the game as long as I've been playing, and hope this will be an issue that will be addressed eventually. But I have a lot of sympathy who look at the current state of the end-game and not really see SSF as a viable option.

End game content, itemization, systems, and events will be a huge focus for LE as we lead up to 1.0 and after.

We’ll be looking at additional ways to find people to group with in game soon but we will have “public” towns functioning for 0.9 where you’ll see other random players and we’ll likely add a separate LFG channel in the mean time. There’s also a LFG channel in the Discord server.

Expanding Monolith, adding random events, giving you reasons to want to kill enemies, and reducing dead ends that don't come with a reward for your exploration are some top priorities that we have internally after the release of 0.9. We're aware and agree that it can feel a bit anemic at the moment and just haven't had the time to put into it with most of our development power on multiplayer, performance, combat feel improvements, and a few other things for the last year.

Funny enough I was reading through, adding comments and questions, to some end-game expansion proposal documents for 1.2 and onwards just a moment ago. There's a lot to come and we'll be back to releasing content regularly once we get 0.9 out the door.

I appreciate your well thought out suggestion here and the assessment of the realistic scenarios that need to be accounted for @Lord_Yanaek. If an expansion of trade were to be introduced to Last Epoch I do believe that it would require a clever solution like proposed here. I’ll link this internally and ask our game design team to read through.

Also, I invite others to brainstorm in this manner. As mentioned in Trasochi’s dev blog we are not firmly against trade, but rather the negative consequences that it brings when entirely open or exploitable.

Thanks, Yanaek.

It's definitely been non traditional and we made it happen through sheer force of will it seems. Having a team of people that really want this has been the factor that has driven our success

Appreciate the mockup here, u/tomcruisesenior and I agree this would be a good improvement. I'm linking this to our internal channels.

I can't promise this will come ultra soon as the guys that are working through UI related projects are up to their ears with multiplayer needs but circling back to the loot filter is definitely on our agenda. I actually designed it personally so it's showing its age. We have more talented folks tackling these things now ;)

Haha very glad to hear you think Epoch is FAF ;)

We have a lot of performance updates coming in our March 9 multiplayer patch that I hope resolve some of the issues you're having there. Also, Monolith variety and end game updates in general will be a huge focus after getting this multiplayer patch out the door.

Oh, and as someone who absolutely loves playing Meteor as a main skill... MP makes this way better when you can sit behind your tanky friends. Cheers!

We appreciate the kind words and I'm very glad to hear that you're enjoying the game so much. We'll continue to push hard for you guys. Cheers!

Server authority will allow many opportunities and conveniences that we wouldn't be able to have otherwise. Fair and reliable leaderboards, community events including races and first X to completion with awards and rewards, intrinsic remote characater saving that's not prone to corruption, remote server-hosted co-op that is not reliant on your own or your friend's internet connection, and for those that do care it will mean that when you find cool things and see others with cool things you'll know that they are legitimate and not spawned by client-side hacks.

I completely understand the frustration that the community is expressing with the time it's taken us to get multiplayer out the door and our previous inaccurate estimates to do so, and I won’t defend us on it. Creating a server-authoritative ARPG when we started as an after hours, non-funded project was much more complex, costly, and came with more challenges than we anticipated, even with anticipating many. I should have been more confident in our progress before the team was speaking to any type of timeframes with the community. We’ve had to switch third party providers for some services, rewrite systems to scale better, and just in general figure a lot of things out that a more experienced team may have had better foresight on.

We’re in it for the long game though and we’re building the game that we want to play as a group of die-hard ARPG fans ourselves. If we didn’t think server auth was important we could have had a version of MP out the door 2 years ago. I can’t p...

Hey everyone, we're actively working on getting information out the door! Apologies for the rate of official information that we're putting out recently - it will improve significantly. We have been heads down ensuring that we have things in order so that this release can be the best we can provide. The entire team appreciates the patience you all are demonstrating with us as all of us internally are very eager to get more content out the door as well. We draw a lot of energy from putting new content out. We're working hard to make sure we not only have a stable release but also one that we can support, which is a different beast when we're online. More information hopefully this week.

Since this comment got some attention I'll add an update here:
Information regarding 0.9 release date and lead up events coming Tuesday, Nov 29

I think this is a fair criticism and callout and I should be stating that this will improve when we're very near our 0.9 launch. Once 0.9 launches we'll get back to our more frequent releases and the team will remain in a more constant state of interacting with the community from there forward.

I'll see if we can get some of the Warpath visual improvements to Mike to show off in Friday's dev stream, and a node called Void Puffs, lol.
