I would think not for horde zombies. If you ran into a POI on horde night, then POI zeds would follow sense rules? Be a while before this gets worked on.

We pool a lot of stuff, but you often get spikes anyway. Even changing parent from the pool to another owner can cause spikes.

Instantiating after the first time is typically cheaper, since Unity keeps resources around, so instantiate is often not that bad.

Unity 2020.3 LTS released today and in testing so far has been working great and in general, due to optimizing, the game is running quite well now.

When you realise just how many doors some buildings can have, that equals a lot of brass.
To the point I've so far never needed to melt my money.
Just a note, this is for most existing in world doors; It does not work on player crafted doors, and there are certain door types in the game world it does not work on like the vault door.

I suppose when you carve a statue it goes something a bit like Spongebobs method? Just pops out fully formed with no flaws?

Some have been sharing their opinions of it on the official forum.

I've honestly never experienced the old or even new controller controls so I can't say which is better.

That said, from the description of the change in the patch notes, I'm guessing that they moved away from a weird control setup to the typical setup that all vehicles typically have in games. Which is to say, Left stick steers, while right stick controls the camera? In which case, I think you're just so accustomed to the old controls that the new (and basically industry standardized) controls feel weird tbh.

We just got an overhaul of the graphics, with the switch to linear space lighting complete and the HD remake of all zombies nearing completion. A20 is slated to redo player clothing/armor. It seems their minimum bar to clear is to at least revisit the graphics of all assets that are unchanged since Alpha 1.

Like JimmyIowa says, a voxel game has a fundamentally different emphasis, harnessing your hardware to do things that non-voxel, graphics-focused games can’t. 7 Days to Die’s graphics are a big fish in the small pond of voxel games.

Sure. You'd accomplish this through modding the game. We have a Modding sub-forum, which is useful both for finding a mod that already does it, and learning how to mod it in yourself.

Once you understand this the sounds quickly go from unnerving to just annoying. Which is, mostly, an improvement.

To anyone wondering, this is true in practice, but only because a zombie trying to spawn at those (x,y) coordinates will spawn on the surface instead.

A reason given to one is an excuse to the ears of another.

When asked why in one of the dev topics, The devs gave some reasons why; That... Read more

The answer to, “Is this good for anything?” is pretty much always yes, but it may or may not be something you need. Use the recipes button when examining an item to see what you can make with it.

They can just add a type of locked door that cannot be picked.
Last I checked there was literally a mod that does this, it's n...

Learn what you should and shouldn't scrap. Most iron objects for example can be scrapped into plain Iron in the early days- Keep however many short iron pipes are needed for the Forge recipe so you can make it when you unlock it; But scrap basically everything else into plain iron. EG: Nails, practically useless to lug around, so just scrap it. Once you have the bare minimum of iron pipes, scrap the rest. Scrap iron arrows (You dont find enough to warrant keeping an inventory slot for them, imo.), and so on.
(Edit to add more examples: Tin cans, candy tins, hub caps, extra cooking pots)

Do the same for Brass items- Scrap them all into one inventory slot.

Ignore all lead items- By the time you need lead, you're going to need far more lead than you looted between the start of the game and when you need it. You may as well just ignore the couple hundred you'd loot to save inventory space and just plan to mine for an extra minute or two later in the game.

I’ve noticed a standard emerge in many POIs, where the doors that are locked are also barricaded, while the doors that are unlocked aren’t barricaded. It is rare to find a plain door where the lock is the only obstacle. This visual design helps reinforce the ‘one true path’ concept: either you’re intended to go through that door or you’re not, with nothing in between to confuse things. It seems like a sensible approach, even though I agree that common sense would dictate that lockpicks work on door locks.

A simple fix would be to change the text, so instead of saying “Wooden Door (locked)” it said “Woden Door (jammed)”.

Yeah, I heard some sounds I don’t recognize. They seem to fit the mood, so my best guesses are:
  • Some sounds were added recently that I hadn’t noticed.
  • You have a mod running that you forgot about.
  • You have something else running in the background making noise.
  • You’re in multiplayer and someone’s using their microphone to prank you.
  • Your computer is haunted. :witch:

I hope they don't stick to that, experience has taught me that they will need a lot of tweaking post release to work properly.

I really wish they would let us test this stuff in progress like an EA game is supposed to.
umm last I heard they were still slated for a21/beta. I never saw anywhere that they were preferring to keep them for 1.0.

Though the new character stuff is being pushed to Alpha 21, there is too much stuff to change out. As a result, it is possible that something might change with the bandits and survivors, though that is a separate group of code being worked on by a differen... Read more

Basically they weren't functioning. AP rounds haven't been useful for a while now. The AP part wasn't doing the AP thing.
