Two things I miss are loot that’s tailored to the zombie type, and procedurally generated caves.

If you’re going to take the time to go over there, loot everything, and by necessity deal with any zombies that get in your way, it seems like you might as well do the quest and get the reward too. Even without the reward, I find it satisfying to know the building is completely cleared. If you’re looking for a tier 5 challenge in a smaller, quicker package, try an infested quest.

You might be talking about the electricity system. Hanging wires are drawn between electrical components (e.g. generators, relays, and anything that takes power), but only while you have the wire tool equipped. I believe it was decided that this looked better aesthetically, though not drawing them most of the time probably marginally improves performance too.

If you are talking about cable-shaped blocks between big utility poles, I don’t think those were ever a thing except for within a POI here and there. If you’re talkin... Read more

I think it just depends on whether your goal is efficiency or the experience. As an experience those quests are pretty epic for a single player and a lot of cooperative fun for a group. But for efficient play and striving to progress as quickly as possible the rewards fall short. So the question is what your goals are in playing.

If you’d like to add to the discussion of how the game has been in alpha since 2013, then please use the thread that’s pinned at the top of the forum. It’s called “In Alpha since 2013?” so there’s really no excuse for missing it.

Yeah, my group just uses Discord and don't even utilize the ingame voice system. I'd like to see some upgrades to it and then we would probably switch over to it.

Maybe do the needful. There is an entire support section set up to assist you. Use it.

I'll help you find it by moving your thread there, but the rest is up to you.

It was a copyright issue with the old theme. TFP basically had no choice.

Although surely they would have found a fix for them, instead of removing them? Unless it was more effort then what it was worth.

Just saying, if you don't want to buy them off a trader.
Not if you smash them. If you loot them. Smashing them gives you only polymer, iron, or a pipe.

You couldn't build the deco cables between power poles previously, so this wasn't removed.

Concrete update was re-designed for a number of reasons. You aren't likely to see the old system return.

Wood log spikes were removed due to an exploit. They are buildable now in the current block system, but no longer deal damage. A block like that doing damage is not likely to return because of how it screwed up AI pathing, and was exploitable by rotating it 180 degrees vertically.

Threads merged and moved to the Modding sub-forum since the issue concerns a mod. If you don’t post something in the correct sub-forum, you can click on the Post History link on the right to still find where it’s been moved. Please don’t make duplicate threads.

I’ve climbed many a mountain on a bike in previous alphas (usually to retrieve an airdrop, or clear fog of war on the map). It was never easy, with or without the little hop function. I just checked it in A21, and I can climb hills - what the RWG actually calls hills - with no problem on a motorcycle.

For mountains, I seriously consider going around. Because, like with any version I can recall since the introduction of more vehicles, coaxing your way up just isn’t very fun, except to prove you can out of spite.

Half a mil for Trader Jen? or including the recording studio / agency type of things aswell?
My understanding was that it was the cost for the artist. They already had the studio set up.

There was a time when even Jen was voiced by that guy. Nothing to complain about, though. They do a fine job. Just kinda wish there was more variety in performance for the rest of the traders. Joel and Bob have the exact same personality and Hugh/Rekt just switch it to a grumpy voice.

Yeah, this feedback is confusing given how the game actually works currently. As far as "completely breaks immersion" I'm on the opposite side. It breaks immersion how you can pick up any 5 rocks off the ground and start a fire with them. I can't do that. In fact, even a primitive survival expert isn't likely to pull that off. And this is a survival game. Back when I made a mod for the game, I changed the recipe so you can't start a fire without an ember.

P.S. If the OP's thesis for this thread amounts to thoughts on losing empty jars, please see the existing thread on that topic instead.
