This is a distance problem, the ball is hitting the roof so it's too far from device creating the dome. We've reported it as a bug.

There are no aim assist clauses in the latest patch notes in the EA website. Do you have any links or proof on any acknowledgement, changes, or resolution on the inconsistant triggering of aim assist?

It missed the deadline for the patch notes blog, but we've added it to the Trello in case the blog cannot be updated to include it.

We had a fix go out with this week's update and wanted to check in on this older thread. Is anyone still seeing issues with this after yesterday's update?

Hey, all. This thread is a smidge old now, but is anyone seeing this after yesterday's update? We had a fix go out to assist with this in the latest update.

a quick question, im on pc and after i updated Apex im unable to start the game, its closes the window with no error messages each time. I already redownloaded the game and it didnt work.

There are two known crash issues with PC after the update - one is with older Intel CPUs and the other is with DX12. Both have a fix in progress and we're tracking on the Trello.

^ This is correct. They auto-open and we've made a note to include this in the blog for any events that continue this in the future. (OP already discovered this, just late replying so the thread is flaired and more folks can see as well.)

I would appreciate it greatly. I definitely posted with some harsh language; to which I apologize. This has been going on for weeks / dealing with an upset 12year old who lost his account isn’t fun. I’ve tried being polite / figured I’d give shock and awe a try. Appreciate your responses. Sorry if I made the community more toxic. In game, I’m actually not one of the toxic voice com people / play to have fun with my kids. Apex is a great game that they love to play.

Just poking this as I haven't seen a reply to the chat req I sent and I know they're a bit hidden. Hit me back if/when you get a chance. Would still like to flag this with the team.

Kinda ironic that the Final Fantasy event doesn't work on the console with Final Fantasy exclusivity.

It's good on PS4, but I definitely thought the same thing when I saw the issue pop.

Honest question: How do y'all release an event but then fail to have the event update be sent out on time on literally every single platform Apex is on? Better yet, why in the world is pre-loading not a thing for y'all's updates? I mean, I've seen some people say they got to pre-load the event but only some people? Not ya know, everyone getting to pre-load?

Can't speak into pre-loading, but updates are multi-faceted from our side, third-party sides, and the platforms themselves. No two updates are alike. The update went out to all platforms at once, and in this instance PS5 hit an issue. There's not a ton of detail I can provide outside of that, but it's not a great experience for anyone when things break. Fix is finalizing.

If you've got a link to your Answers HQ thread handy, we can flag that to the team for investigation. Note that it's an AHQ thread not a support ticket.

No idea how this catastrophic of a failure can happen but Im pretty sure CP is supposed to link your own accounts not yours and someone elses. There doesnt seem to be a way to undo it either, nor a way to even bring this to the dev's attention... so here is my attempt

The only way this could’ve occurred was if you and your friend’s Xbox profiles were linked to the same EA account, cross progression does not impact separate EA accounts. Could you verify which EA account your Xbox profile was linked to by checking out the ~account connections page~ and see whether it is linked to the same EA account as your friends account? If you do not see this, please start a thread on ~Answers HQ~ with as many details as possible includin...

I think I hit decline on the cross platform prompt(cant recall) but I am just curious what would happen in this scenario?

You can’t decline Cross Progression as it’s mandatory, but you can choose to exit the game and not continue when prompted; this would mean you are not cross-progressed, but it also means that you're unable to play the game.

If you only play on one platform you would have just seen the “Cross Progression is Here” message. Clicking continue will have no impact on your Apex Legends experience on PS4. Your account would be cross-progressed. If you then link your Steam account to the same EA ID as your PS4, when you log in to Apex Legends on Steam you will be greeted with your cross-progressed account, which is the one you have previously played with on PS4. The content you call out will be available, except for certain badges earned on the non-primary account under specific circumstances. This topic is discussed elsewhere.

Me and my husband's xbox live accounts were linked to the same EA account, didn't realize it, has been that way since 2014. Our accounts on Apex are now merged, eliminating his, and now we can't play together. We haven't logged into apex in a couple of months, just did so yesterday, got the message, and cannot figure out how to fix it. We can't unlink either xbox live account, there isn't even an option to do it, however, pretty sure we'd lose our games if we did. I plan on contacting either EA or Apex support but they're contact center is closed down for the holidays. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As you call out, the accounts have been merged as they were treated as being owned by the same account owner. You can unlink one of the Xbox accounts from the connections page (~https://myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/connectaccounts/index~) for the EA account, BUT it will remove all progress from that account as you thought it might. Once one of the Xbox accounts has been unlinked, you can then link it to a different EA account so that they are separate which solves for being able to play together albeit with one account starting fresh.

am i just unable to do cross progression now?

Support will be able to help you regain access to your account. Please create a ticket on ~EA Help~ and let them know that you no longer have access to the email address for the account in question.

Was your Steam account your primary account? If so, then you won't see any changes on Steam but rather on the other platforms attached. If you're encountering something different, please start a thread on ~Answers HQ~ with more details so that this can be investigated.

Now since they did this Cross Progression me and my brother can’t play with each other. Is there anyway to unlink the accounts? We logged into EA and saw both accounts together but there’s no button to click to unlink the accounts. Would anyone be able to explain how to unlink the accounts? Even if 1 account loses everything that’s fine. We just don’t want to have to restart an Xbox gamer tag account.

The accounts have been merged as they were treated as being owned by the same account owner. You will be able to unlink one of the Xbox accounts from the connections page () for the EA account. Once one of the Xbox accounts has been unlinked, you will be able to link it to a different EA account and thus separating the accounts. As you noted, no progress will move over when you unlink it, but that does address your concern of having to create a new Xbox gamer tag.
