Yea, we are still working on the set item problem. We have a few options that we are experimenting with but aren’t quite settled on one so we don’t have any major changes to set items coming yet.

We are constantly chipping away at the ‘make it perform well’ task each patch, including this one. We are also actively hiring full-time developers and artists who’s primary goal will be performance. We recognize that it is one of the most discussed aspects of the game and are treating it with equal attention.

Depths of Eterra Update

Today is an exciting day to be part of the Last Epoch community!

First off, thank you for being so patient while waiting to hear what is in store for our next big update. That wait is now over, and your patience is about to be rewarded.

Today we are revealing that patch 0.8.5 - Depths of Eterra is only 9 days away, releasing on March 18th. WHAT? 9 DAYS? Fire up the hype train!? We hear you, and we agree. This patch cycle we decided to take a different approach in the way we announce all the cool new things that are coming: We’ve packed them all into a Non-stop, 9 day, Extended Hype Week, Patch Extravaganza *TM. Ok, we are still working on the name.

What does this mean for you? ...

Thank you very much for the reply. Another question, does increased item rarity affect the items obtained from the completed exclusive echo rewards, or only from the monsters we kill within the echo?

It does not affect items obtained from exclusive echo rewards, only from monsters killed within the echo.

However, on a related note, higher corruption does result in a higher chance of uncovering rarer exclusive echo rewards, such as ones that give unique and exalted items.

The "rarity" argument regarding shards is pretty hollow when almost no one is actually reading shards, you know? I agree with your argument, generally speaking, but there needs to be more done to make players aware of when they've found a rare shard and when they haven't.

As it stands, you just pick up all of them, but it's a huge hassle. Meanwhile you have thousands of some and actually zero of others. If a shard dropped that I currently have zero of, I probably wouldn't even notice.

Rare shards will have a different colour on the ground in 0.8.5.

When you have a triggered ability, you are essentially creating a new ability that is the combination of the two. You are still making the decision to use them both at the same time. The issue comes from removing that decision by making it an auto-cast. I can see why it seems similar but they are different in our eyes.

Hello Travelers!

As the community continues to expand, we find certain questions regularly come up in game, on our official discord, or in other places. We wanted to provide a centralized resource to find developer responses to these common questions. As more questions commonly come up, we will continue to add to this FAQ.

I tried googling but apparently some answers say Blessings only affect uncommon to exalted drops and not uniques/boss-uniques?

The blessings currently don't have any effect on boss specific drops. This is something that we're hoping to change in future, because it would be more intuitive if they did affect them, but unfortunately it's not so simple to actually do.

The blessings do, however, affect all non-specific random item drops from enemies, including non-boss-specific uniques.

Slowly exposing my laziness. You’re exactly right why that’s happening. I’m sure you’ve noticed descriptions that are clearly copied from different skills too. Most commonly for enemy abilities because those descriptions aren’t shown anywhere.

Thanks for the feedback. I can say that this will not have an adverse effect on the release date of the game. I’m quite proud to be able to do something to help people in need. We are working hard to get to 1.0 and I’m really excited to share multiplayer with the world.

Timeline bosses have two types of specific drops. Common drops and uncommon drops. They will always drop one of their two common drops and increased item rarity has no effect on that.

They will occasionally drop one or more of their uncommon drops as well, and increased item rarity does increase that chance. Twisted Heart of Uhkeiros is an uncommon drop so it is helpful to try to get higher increased item rarity when farming it.

It's also probably worth mentioning that all timeline bosses have at least one uncommon drop that is specific to empowered timelines. In the case of the Emperor of Corpses, that is the shield, Horns of Uhkeiros. Its presence as a possible drop has no effect on the drop chance of Twisted Heart of Uhkeiros, so there's no point in doing non-empowered timelines just to avoid it.

Hello Travelers,

As much of our community is aware, every Friday one of our game designers - Mike, hosts a dev stream. This stream is an opportunity for us to hang out with our community, play some Last Epoch, answer community questions, and maybe, reveal a teaser or two about upcoming content.

What many people might not be aware of is that each month we pick a charity which all proceeds from the dev stream are donated. For the months of January and February, we were contributing dev stream proceeds to Save the Children. Save the Children is an organization which works to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts.

Last Friday, our Game Director Judd posted a statement concerning the happenings involving Ukraine and Russia, and the relations to the Eleventh Hour Games studio having team members in both countries.
