Try to whitelist the game in your antivirus. Worked for me. But be aware. If you have bitdiffender you have to whitelist it in advanced threat security. Do that with your uplay.exe and also the game itself. Have a wonderful day!

I thought I’d give it a go and try and launch it from there and Voila! it finally opened. I didn’t have steam or uplay running at that moment. It did crash after about 15 minutes, but everything was fine after that. I can now launch it from anywhere as normal.

Welcome to the forums! The technical test is only supported by Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 (64-bit versions). You can try running it with Linux however we will not be able to provide any technical support should you run into any issues doing so.

This seems rather strange. Could you try closing the game, unplugging your keyboard then plugging it back in. Once done re-launch the game and see if it still happens.
