Recipes that consume items with quality levels (IE, vehicles, a workbench, etc) do not have any effect from the items quality; so use the worst you can for those recipes.

Just because something is 'Fine' doesn't mean it can't be Better. Alot of guys say "I'm fine" when asked how they are, but statistically, Most of them are actually very much NOT fine and just masking their problems with a strong facade.

"Fine" and "A balanced gameplay experience" aren't mutually exclusive. You can have one without the other, or both at the same time.

Water was 'Fine'. Except it was 'Fine' in the way that after about 30 minutes in a new save, You never had to worry about water ever again- In a survival game where food and water are supposed to be some kind of ongoing challenge to, yknow, your survival, and where your save can last HUNDREDS of days if you want it to..

It was 'Fine' in that it 'technically worked'....

But it was NOT a balanced gameplay experience. It was patently, and potently, imbalanced in the players favor to the extent that even newbies to the genre never had problems acquiring water. That's not a good thi... Read more

It's hard for me to force myself to do something else and that's one of the reason i don't role play often. Next run I will try to go STR and FORT and nerf myself :D I have no idea how I will find any advanced weapons, vehicle or bench though
Strength and fortitude are pretty powerful in their own rights. :winter2019happyyul: And don't stress it- Alot of people have the same min-maxing 'problem', and will look up the single best build and the single best way to make a base and the sin... Read more

I don't agree. Like Mithrandir said the trader perks are way too OP....

You can't make too many assumptions about random art that was shown for a future alpha, because that does not mean it will turn out that way. We have a lot of different developers, with a variety of opinions, skills and goals and they show what they think is meaningful or interesting or cool or happens to be done.

Grass has a different shader than trees and use different techniques in the shader for their animation. Trees are 2 different versions of speedtree, which have a bunch of rules and limitations for how they work, some of which we don't like. To go back in time, we would probably do them differently.

Maybe. I have not seen or heard anyone at the company talk about disappearing trees in months. Trees are in large groups with a single occludee that has to take into account the largest edge tree, which may also be moving from animation, so the bounds is an approximation. Too small, disappearing. Too big, inefficient.

There was an odd case, maybe a year ago where it looked like occludees were swapped, but was never reproduced.

There are many players on PC/Mac/Linux with worse hardware than the current gen consoles, but they can still play the game because they can turn the game settings way down. The goal for current gen consoles is to have high quality settings, with good FPS and still fit in memory, which is not an easy combination.

Many operations in Unity have to be done on the main thread, but it does get a bit less restrictive with each year's changes. Their newer tech works much better with threads, but is generally more buggy or not done and requires gutting a lot of code and rewriting how you do things, which we don't have time to do.

That way, if A21 is released while you're playing an A20 game you can decide whether to abandon it to start a new game in A21 or continue with that A20 game until you're finished with it and then start a new game in A21. If you've cloned your installation of 7DTD you could have one copy in A20 and one copy in A21 and switch between your existing game in A20 and a new game in A21 as you please.

There is no release date for A21. It might be 2 wee...

OP is legitimately wondering about whether it is worth starting a new game now or waiting until the update hits. It is a common worry at this stage of an update cycle. You are the one who brought up tomorrow at 2:32 PM not them. They never demanded in a passively or actively aggressive manner that the update happen immediately.

Hyperbole is okay for making a point. But when you are arguing about how features in the game work you should strive to be as accurate as possible and make sure to disclose any settings that might make a difference.

I just tested it to be sure and you pretty consistently get 10 meat from either rabbits or chickens when harvesting them with a bone knife which is craftable on day one. 10 meat is two meals from a chicken which means a half dozen chickens will yield about 12 meals. That is a huge difference from your characterization and some may argue that it is actually OP in the other direc... Read more

Usually once the developer streams showing off the next version begin, the streamer weekend is 1-2 months out at most, and the monday following the streamer weekend is when experimental begins.

That said, There is no hard date yet, But the devs did make a comment in the first dev stream, And I'm going to stress this, a HOPEFUL COMMENT(Not a commitment or guarantee!), that it should probably be ready for experimental access in May.

Who says that every kernel on the corn cob is viable. It’s a post apocalyptic world so farming isn’t going to be as viable as it is in our current time.

They just don’t include the gameplay action of inspecting each kernel and finding that most seeds are sterile but rarely you get one that takes and grows to a seedling. Instead it is done via the ratios we have in order to get a viable seed.

For cooking we don’t know how large a portion each meat bit is but there could be rot or waste and that is simply abstracted to a 5 to 1 ratio. The ratio gets better at higher perk levels for cooking to show that your skills result in less waste.

1) Cooking ratio. The pieces of meat you use as ingredients aren't sized, so the 5 to 1 ratio could be at least vaguely plausibly explained by the pieces of meat being small enough to require 5 of them to make one portion of food. Unless you consider the source, because even an inexpertly butchered chicken would provide more than 1 portion of food. But kind of plausible with a dash of handwavium.

2) Calorie requirements. This one is internally consistent. Calorie requirements in real life increase with increased musculature and increased physical work. Calorie requirem...
