Character models and bandits at the same time. Much better animations are coming. Recent Twitter post showed some work on that.

Serious question. Is this something that was said by the Devs themselves? Or just an assumption on your part?

I question it because I highly doubt this is an impossible task to achieve. Especially in a voxel based game. I could be wrong but it seems like something like this could easily be implemented but the devs...

Try increasing your field of view to the max of 85. That can be done in just the options screen from within the game.

You could also try disabling dynamic mesh and see if that smooths out your framerate.

Correct. It just isn’t possible to maintain grass blocks in a different biome where th natural terrain isn’t already grass. Perhaps placing wood or concrete blocks and painting them with a grass texture might work. I can’t remember if there is a grass texture for paint or not. But terrain blocks will always revert to the surrounding biome texture and it is the nature of the biome generation tech so definitely hard coded.

You know what the OP means.

I do but placing blocks is never going to work. The technology used for biome generation forces terrain blocks to match the assigned biome. Since I’m a solutions type guy I’m giving the only way to create a grassy plains biome which is to remove all the trees rather than try to transplant ter... Read more

Space allowing, I'll prefer to get everything in it's whole form. I'll set up a chest or several outside a POI to store things.

Space disallowing, All iron things get compacted into plain iron, all lead to lead, wood and stone get tossed, nitrate and coal get tossed. I'll avoid scrapping brass to brass though if I can help it, and will toss lead first

Basically a systematic order of valuing- Anything I can easily harvest gets compacted or eventually tossed in favor of other things.. Iron, Lead, Nitrate, Coal, Wood, Stone, Clay, etc.

As I get a bigger inventory to ferry things, I stop scrapping things. So, once i get a bigger vehicle, or once i get a drone, i'll scrap less and store more.

I've been playing 750+ hours and have never come across or seen a red bag drop after killing tons of zombies. Blue and yellow bags but never a red.
Blue and reds are a relatively recent adition as far as things go.. Circa A20, I think. Reds are extremely rare and also can only drop from the most dangerous zombie types(Like... Read more

Change for the sake of change is never a good thing. This looks tedious and annoying, running back to a base to check a dozen or two dew collectors regularly is not my idea of fun.
Unless it's severely different tha...

If you want my advice, don’t outsource the fun of picking a character build to all of us! Enjoy exploring for yourself what perks & skills allow you to do. If you don’t like how it plays out, you can use Grandpa’s Forgettin’ Elixir to reset, or start a new game.

And the pinned topic with information was literally just updated a couple of days ago.

OP might try harder at looking for information before trolling the forum for a lack thereof.

As soon as you can collect/sell $1500 worth of stuff (aka, a little more than a single book...something experienced players can do by day1-3) you can craft a magical drink station that completely negates thirst as a problem.

You've got this all solved and minimized in theory and decided it is completely trivial. I'm excited for you to actually play it and see whether it really is as trivial as you seem to think it is. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised-- unless you want it to be trivial.

The devs are sending mixed messag...

Tbh it's incredibly down to user preference. But general user sentiment is that Strength and Intelligence are OP in their own ways- For general playing, Strength is a better option between the two, as Int's combat style is weak early into the game.

General sentiment aside, Pick the main stat that has the weapon types you like most- Like shotguns? Go Strength. Prefer assault rifles? Go Fortitude. You're also honestly going to want to spread points around to pick up minor abilities sooner or later, so you'll end up with points in each tree, with your combat tree taking the lead.

That said, I personally have played at least one playthrough focused purely on each tree, and while their playstyles and approach are different, I never really felt any of them to be wanting. The way you have to play each tree IS different though.

Delete, no. The saves will still be there, and you can continue to play the save by remaining on A20.x.

But it will not by updated to A21- You'll have to make a new save in A21 to play with A21 changes.

There are deliberate limitations to keep the calculations simple. Most notably, you can’t have multiple inputs. However, I can’t think of a reason for what you describe, if I’m understanding your setup correctly. You may be experiencing a bug.

I have thought it would be useful to have an invisible sign. That is, just the writable aspect with no backing, so it could be placed in front of whatever block. But for lying flush against a partial shape block… I don’t see how that could happen for the reasons described above.

One thing the devs have discussed more recently is a more robust decal system, e.g. for road markings. If we’re lucky maybe that (still theoretical) tech could be borrowed for the case OP us describing.

And I can't blame them. The CPU resources needed for structural integrity alone would make that an absolute nightmare. It already is.

Clustering the voxel universe even more would pull this game out of "possible with today's technology" than it already is.

They're doing a great job with what is available with current tech. Maybe when technology catches up.
Actually, slightly incorrect here. Early-on in development they did consider switching to micro-voxels, and looked into it. They discovered that it would require re-writing most of the base code for the voxel blocks, and that it would add a huge... Read more
