No. It's specifically a non-combatant that provides non combat benefits depending on what mods you equip it with. It can apply medical supplies to you, offer a light source, have a fairly sizable inventory to stow loot in, and a couple other things.

Make sure you're at the trader you accepted the quest from. If you accept a quest from Trader A, you must return to Trader A to turn it in.

I doubt it's this, but, Armor type perhaps? Are you in heavy when they're in light?

I'm more amazed that people have empty space in their hot bar. Mines perpetually full of everything I need.

Axe, Pickaxe, Melee Weapon, Ranged Weapon, Wrench, Shovel, Knife, water, food, bandages and other medical supplies, ammo stack so i can tell my ammo at a glance without switching to my ranged weapon, wood frames for navigating the world, a construction tool..... There's only 10 slots and like 20 things I want to put in them.

This. The closest thing to a companion NPC that travels around with us is likely going to be the robotic drone which is already in the game.

It’s possible this would be fixed with changes to vanilla RWG, in which case KingGen (an unsupported third party app) could still have the issue.

Are you coming home at night? Or basing outside of the starting forest biome? Or turning your XP gain up in the settings? Because these things will affect the enemies you encounter. Also I don't mean to patronize you, but are you trying to avoid the animals? Employing stealth the best you can?

Objects actively REMOVED from the game world will not naturally respawn. This includes but is not limited to workbenches, sinks, tarp bags full of cobblestone rocks, bird nests, cars, trucks, brass fixtures, doors, etc, etc, etc.

If you break it or salvage it, It is gone. The only way for any object removed to respawn is to get a quest at the location, which will refresh the POI so the quest is possible.

I can understand reaching this thread by googling e.g. "7DtD craft oil for repair kit," if you're trying to look something up: to learn something. It's harder to imagine searching for an old thread because you want to comment on things said seven years ago.

In any case, please don't resurrect very old threads. They tend to contain out-of-date information, which is confusing.

And add 99% more, but different, hassles. Workshop support isn't a magic cureall, It just solves user inability to put a file in a specific location, and in return, takes away any version control from the user, and has very few options for version sorting- Meaning if you put in workshop support early in development, after a version change or three, suddenly 90% of the workshop is worthless to a game played in the current version, and just cause all kinds of problems for users who then have to try and figure out what will and wont work for the current version.

Plenty of examples on Steam that decided to do workshop too early... Read more

There is indeed a mechanism to keep you from getting into it before it opens. And that mechanism is that, should a player approach too close, it will them to a random point around the border of the trader a block or two back from the border that teleports them.

If you attempt to approach the trader while it's closed, and it happens to teleport you to almost the exact same spot several times in a row, it could seem very much like it is rubberbanding. But it's just TPing you back a few blocks.

The border for teleporting is several blocks away from the trader wall, to prevent people from finding cheeky ways to get over the wall via vehicles or other methods.
