You could do the same with poles, pillars, and all kinds of steel blocks. This changes nothing.

I only went there after getting up my sneaking. I looted buildings for over a week in the wasteland and used maybe one magazine of pistol ammo. I didn't want ALL the attention. 😃

Indeed, the rest of us are busy bees at night. Although doing stuff 24 hours a day isn’t realistic, that Blood Moon is coming whether you take the time to properly prepare for it or not. So you waste time at your own peril.

Though I will say gamestage has softened this a lot from what it used to be. And my other caveat is, it’s unfortunate this nothing-to-do phenomenon is most prevalent in the first days, when you haven’t unlocked much to do but also when players make their first impressions of the game.

I love when games do that! Unfortunately, I don’t think TFP would do it. They get enough complaints about performance already, without rendering a whole player character at high enough fidelity to stand up to scrutiny in first person. One expects some art sacrifices for the sake of the voxel world, and skipping this is low hanging fruit. In other words, 7DtD already goes above and beyond with the fully destructible world. Going above and beyond on the first person view model isn’t their claim to fame, and it’s too late to change focus now.

They’re planning to overhaul all the clothing and armor - basically all the parts that affect how player characters look - for A21, though. So maaaaaybe they’d be so pleased with how that turns out, that they’ll want to show it off in first person. But I really doubt it.

The 5 to 1 ratio is a byproduct of balancing . It's functionally still 1 piece.

It used to be that meat WAS 1:1, but they added a skill to increase harvests- However, to retain consistency with other skills and not make the skill seem much more powerful than it actually is, it increases the yield by 20% of base value per skill rank. With 5 ranks, this means doubling your yield.

However, 20% of 1 is .2; And .2 does not a whole piece make. Neither does .4, .6 or .8, for that matter. And so, they simply multiplied the base yield of meat by 5- And the recipe cost for most foods that use meat by 5 as well. Which makes 20% now increase 5 to 6; an increase of a whole number, without impacting how much meat is actually being used per craft.

This simultaneously solved another conundrum they had- How do we make a recipe use a fraction of a single piece of meat? Like, for example, a stew. When 1 was 1, There was no answer- Now that 1 is 5, you can use 5, 4, 3, 2 ... Read more

And what is "any kind of population on the server"?

8 players, I assume, because that's the supported number?

At a guess, the multiplier is there because sheets are used to cover openings that the player is supposed to break.

Muffled armor still makes noise, and there’s a regular and advanced version. If you want to go all in on stealth, consider switching to armor that doesn’t increase noise at all - padded or ghillie suit if I recall correctly, or even no armor. And yes, feral sense greatly improves the ability of zombies to sense you. It would seem to directly work against a stealth build.

You can't go outside the default limitations.

I think Khaine has a mod to.

And to be clear, the game used to support larger FoV's. There were however some issues, and a number of exploits. So it's not limited. At least it's not locked into the value of 60 that they wanted to force it to.

Count yourself lucky, basically. You're not missing anything- You just risked setting off a bomb that, thankfully, didn't blow up in your face.

Having done a few, I don't see the problem. Clear the building first, then activate the object- It doesn't spawn new zomibes, just attracts any sleepers nearby that have been spawned in but not aggroed/killed already. If you're sneaking in and activating the very loud generator before dealing with the zombies, well....you get pretty much what you got- A lot of zombies coming for your delightfully munchable flesh.

The change to farming is just another bad decision to bandaid a previous bad decision. The skill system is beyond retarded in implementation. It punishes a jack of all trades player, but if you're playing in single player m...

This change was actually streamlining crafting, and removing un-necessary steps. Has absolutely nothing to do with survival.

We don't have a hunched over anim, so I made do with what we have. It needs more work.

I used to build hay bale staircases when I explored some POIs. When I was finished with the place, I picked up the hay bales back.

Also, I used to keep a "disposable" staircase in my bunker house. In case of a zombie breach on the 1st floor, I evacuated on the 2nd floor and picked up the staircase frame blocks.

I guess it's time to go smoke crack and go ♥♥♥♥ myself.
Yes they can, and with the use of the shapes menu you have portable ladders, portable any shape.
You want the 'Frame Shape' (particle board looking stuff) for picking up. Not any material named shape.

This was long reported as a bug, and during a16 Joel finally said "it's intentional", right along with the hatch elevator.
Then a17 dropped, and it was "fixed an exploit with the hatches and haybales".
