I have many times accidentally upgraded a block when I forgot I was carrying steel and just doing regular repairs on reinforced concrete though. :( Both Steel and Reinforced Concrete are upgrades. Pretty sure you can still craft concrete blocks in the cement mixer and then place? I'll check but if anyone knows better in the mean time feel free to chime i...

I'm not sure 'cause I don't like cheesing that way, but I'd bet they didn't fix that one.
That should have been fixed as well with the door hack. They were both in the same bug report we were working on.

Just checking... did you know that artificial lights have no effect on crop growth?

While I can see the reason for the desire, non-vehicle travel requires stamina, and stamina is used both for sprinting and combat. It'd be too easy to be left open to attack because the system spent the stamina you needed to defend yourself. It's one thing to make the conscious decision to keep sprinting- It's another for an automated system to do it for you.

Beyond that, Enemies can spawn and attack at any time in pretty much any place- Auto-travel would undoubtedly lead a lot of people to get a bad taste in their mouth because they got dead while they were staring at their phone or afk getting a snack. Plus it's too easy to get caught on things in the game world which only ratchets up the danger of any given spawned enemy. There's not really any big long straight lines to take.

Pretty sure you will never see this option in the game. Stamina is costly, and the majority of survival games with survival mechanics similar to 7 Days do not have any auto-walk/run feature for this very reason.

There isn't, it's just shadows in general that sets the distance and quality together.

Resolution also makes a difference, but running at 1920x1080 shouldn't have that many issues. The OP is reporting something that is a reported problem with dusk and dawn on some GPU's. The current working theory is that it's caused by the rendering of tree shadows, as this can be a rather intensive task due to the voxel nature of the game.

As I recall, some have a working theory that tree shadows are the main culprit.

Sounds like you've got either a seriously slow PC, or a seriously laggy connection to a server.

What you describe is not normal when playing on a system that meets or exceeds the minimum specs, and is properly optimized. At least not on the current version of the game. If you were playing an older version like a16 it might be like that, but it hasn't been that bad since a17, and has nearly been eliminated in a19.

Spawn point, along with many other things like tree placement, bird nest placement, garbage placement, etc, are determined by your game save name and world choice. For sake of example, If you make your save named "ABC123" on the Navezgane map, you will spawn in say, the desert next to a house. If you then delete the save and remake it with the exact same name of "ABC123" on Navezgane, you will once again spawn in the desert next to the same house- The exact same spot down to the block.

So, You have to pick a new save game name if you want a different spawn location. And if you want the specific name you've chosen and are unwilling to change it, then yes, your only option in that case would be to hoof it for greener pastures, literally. To save you some trouble, Forest would be to the North of the Wasteland.

There's RNG too. Half the time I have a crucible before I'm even making iron tools.

It takes time for the heatmap to dissipate, so it's possible that your heatmap was already in the trigger zone, even though you had turned things off.

If I'm running a lot of things I will usually turn them off, then spend half a day doing small things around my base for it to cool down.

It's opinion based, though. There's also people who think doing anything without the INT tree is abysmally awful. And others that think Perception is unskippable. And others who adore Fortitude and won't play without it (I'm a fortitude gal myself.)

And..Really, that's kindof the purpose of varied skill trees, isn't it? You might put some points in other trees, but, speaking generally, there's going to be one of the five that speaks to you and that you prefer over the others.

I've used that slider in my own games. Only regret not putting more choices for values. I'd prefer 5 or 10 % increments for many of our options. Someday.

This is very subjective. I would fully expect some people to hate it, since you can always find someone who hates anything. Looks cool to me, but I have not seen one in person, so can't say 100% that it is great.

No matter what the AI does, in the end it will be predictable. If they only go for the player, if they ignore the player and attack the structure, if it's 50/50, if it's 30/70- If it only goes for your LCB.. It doesn't matter. In the end, the AI is going to do a specific set of actions in a specific predictable manner. It might take more or less time to figure out the trick; But there is ALWAYS a trick. There is no game with AI so fantastical that you can't predict what it will do once you have enough experience.

To add onto this, There is no reasonable way in a fully destructible fully buildable world for the AI to have any target but the player. If they're supposed to target player built constructions, the player will just build a concrete cube to attract the zombies, while they themselves are across the street in a normal POI, shooting at the zombies from there. You can't have them target something like an LCB instead, as the player would just refuse to put one down.... Read more

1: You can find or buy better tools completely irregardless of whether or not you have the Miner 69er perk. Yes, It can give you them faster, and yes it bolsters damage; But it's not necessity. It's a choice driven by impatience.
2: Likewise to the above, A choice driven by impatience. You can absolutely harvest enough without motherload to succeed- Mother lode at max rank is 100% increase. So, spend 2x as long and you'll reach the same quantity.
3: You can find recipes for all the food- It's a choice to want to be able to cook your own food instead of scrounging around while looting or buying it at the trader.

And in all three cases, you can buy a rank in the skill without any additional points in strength; with the cooking one teaching you basic recipes and teas which is more than enough. I've never put more than a single point in the cooking skill. Meanwhile, Miner 69er and mother lode both have a significantly lower cost to entry than any other skill, ... Read more
