Based on the information you've provided, I have been digging around a little and have seen similar reports from players, however it did involve flickering as well, which seem to not happen in your particular instance, therefore overall likely to be a different issue here.

So that we could look into it further, may I check the following:

  1. Since when did you notice this? In the past, was the functionality applying the noticeable change or has it always been like this for you?
  2. Did you try changing it to either 2x or 4x, just to see if it's any better?

By default, it should be located in %userprofile%\Documents\Anno 1800\accounts. Once found, if you could upload it to any file sharing website and then drop the link, that would be great!

I have had a closer look at it and can see similar reports being mentioned in the past, however following our recent patches, it appears that issue does no longer occur, therefore may I check whether this concerns possibly an older save by any chance?
