While it's not the only method we use to address this kind of behavior, we have recently expanded the reporting options in-game as well.
If you get a chance please be sure to report them as that'll help on an individual basis as well as letting us further refine other systems in place.
This particular option would fall under the Gameplay Disruption > Inactive During Match section if you've not already been using it, thanks for the concern about this!

By default you should be able to use the EA ID to find your friends, but if you're searching by PSN or Xbox usernames you'll want to be sure those options are checked.
