Change for the sake of change is never a good thing. This looks tedious and annoying, running back to a base to check a dozen or two dew collectors regularly is not my idea of fun.
Unless it's severely different tha...

If you want my advice, don’t outsource the fun of picking a character build to all of us! Enjoy exploring for yourself what perks & skills allow you to do. If you don’t like how it plays out, you can use Grandpa’s Forgettin’ Elixir to reset, or start a new game.

And the pinned topic with information was literally just updated a couple of days ago.

OP might try harder at looking for information before trolling the forum for a lack thereof.

As soon as you can collect/sell $1500 worth of stuff (aka, a little more than a single book...something experienced players can do by day1-3) you can craft a magical drink station that completely negates thirst as a problem.

You've got this all solved and minimized in theory and decided it is completely trivial. I'm excited for you to actually play it and see whether it really is as trivial as you seem to think it is. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised-- unless you want it to be trivial.

The devs are sending mixed messag...

Tbh it's incredibly down to user preference. But general user sentiment is that Strength and Intelligence are OP in their own ways- For general playing, Strength is a better option between the two, as Int's combat style is weak early into the game.

General sentiment aside, Pick the main stat that has the weapon types you like most- Like shotguns? Go Strength. Prefer assault rifles? Go Fortitude. You're also honestly going to want to spread points around to pick up minor abilities sooner or later, so you'll end up with points in each tree, with your combat tree taking the lead.

That said, I personally have played at least one playthrough focused purely on each tree, and while their playstyles and approach are different, I never really felt any of them to be wanting. The way you have to play each tree IS different though.

Delete, no. The saves will still be there, and you can continue to play the save by remaining on A20.x.

But it will not by updated to A21- You'll have to make a new save in A21 to play with A21 changes.

Or are you going to tell me it's not possible because your code is nothing but a jumbled up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess of hacks and other peoples code?

The OP's example does sound simple. As I said, I can't think of a reason for why it wouldn't work, and it may in fact be a bug. If it bothers you, I'd encourage you to follow the ste... Read more

There are deliberate limitations to keep the calculations simple. Most notably, you can’t have multiple inputs. However, I can’t think of a reason for what you describe, if I’m understanding your setup correctly. You may be experiencing a bug.

I have thought it would be useful to have an invisible sign. That is, just the writable aspect with no backing, so it could be placed in front of whatever block. But for lying flush against a partial shape block… I don’t see how that could happen for the reasons described above.

One thing the devs have discussed more recently is a more robust decal system, e.g. for road markings. If we’re lucky maybe that (still theoretical) tech could be borrowed for the case OP us describing.

By the devs? -No.

And I can't blame them. The CPU resources needed for structural integrity alone would make that an absolute nightmare. It already is.

Clustering the voxel universe even more would pull this game out of "possible with today's technology" than it already is.

They're doing a great job with what is available with current tech. Maybe when technology catches up.
Actually, slightly incorrect here. Early-on in development they did consider switching to micro-voxels, and looked into it. They discovered that it would require re-writing most of the base code for the voxel blocks, and that it would add a huge... Read more

It is better now and if creative mode is your thing when flipping buildings, A21 will be even better. The reason is new custom decorative blocks galore many of which are only accessible via the creative menu. A20 added some but A21 is going to be a wonderland for players like yourself.

On the downside there are still very limited textures.

Read it over, and watch the video linked- The vido is from A15, so it's a bit old, the mass and max load values presented within are going to be inconsistent with current alpha values. But the actual Mechanics of structural int... Read more

Yeah the animation sucks, at this point i dont really care about graphics fidelity
Combat is clunky
Hitbox is broken

The animation is so bad that i cant tell my melee range while zombies can hit me but my swing wont reach them.

Screenshots of new art always get more buzz than would, say, a screenshot of c# code showing how a programmer reduced the overhead on zombie pathing. The latter is just not as sexy to the average fan. So there will always be some perception that the focus is on new graphics. However, those willing to read up on development[community.7daystodie.com] will find the next alpha has a variety of art, design, and coding changes. For instance, there is a long needed overhaul to address issues with water simulation, and an optional chunk reset option that could help stabilize the game in some cases. Optimization is an ongoing process, but you don’t want to focus on optimization until all your core features are in the game. Which is to say, during beta rather than alpha.

Classic location still works except for prefabs.

All details are in the A20 patch notes regarding the changes to location. It's not going to be permanent until a21.
