We can indeed confirm that this is intended behavior and that this new system automatically promotes a clan officer to become the leader, in the case of old clan leader having been inactive for 2 months. The system checks the activity of other clan members to determine an appropriate replacement for the leader in his time of absence and will assign the role to this member automatically.

We understand that it's not very clear what is taking place, and we hope to improve the UI in the future to explain it better.

We are unable to change the clan leader, this is something you would need to communicate with the current leader about.

It can take up to 48 hours for purchases to go onto accounts, especially during busier periods. If the credits are still missing after this time, can you please contact our support team via Twitter DM or Facebook PM
When you contact, please make sure to let them know the email address and username on your account, as well as include a fullscreen uncropped screenshot showing your email receipt from the purchase.

If the region of your game disc is different to the region on your PSN account, this will cause issues like what you're experiencing.
I'd advise speaking to Sony about this
