Hello ZmileInSweden, thank you for posting and I am a sorry to hear you have been unable to start your game.

Anno 1800 is designed to work with either DirectX 11 or DIrectX12, however sometimes Windows 10 will not update the version of DirectX you are using automatically, and so you will need to update this manually. This may be the reason you are unable to launch the game.

Hello EnPro23, thank you for your post and your feedback on this.

If you do come across MnK players and you believe you have evidence that shows this, please get in touch with us as we do take action on these reports and continue to report them to our Siege security team as well as address them in our Siege blog updates.

If you do not wish to record a clip, please continue to use the Report A Player tool in game, as this will flag that players account as well as time and date of the match and server location.

Thank you everyone for contributing to this thread. I have renamed the title to address that this is happening to players using the 461.92 update.

In order for us to report this to our QA team to test, could some of you please submit your DXDIAG, MSINFO and save files for us to be able to investigate this further?

Hello everyone, thank you for continuing to update us on your in game performance, FPS drops and lag.

I have seen a recent thread pop up where players also mention this is affecting Nvidia update 461.92 also as SirHarryPierce and Boliwod have confirmed.

We have an investigation ongoing into this but it would also help if some of you can send some files over to us please, so that we can send new reports and fresh system files to our QA team.

Hello mattarc, thanks for contributing to the thread on this issue.

If possible would you be able to provide a short video clip demonstrating this, so we can review and report this to our QA to try and replicate?

If you able to upload a clip to a video hosting website such as Imgur or Youtube then send us a link to view it in this thread, that would be great. You should e able to use the Windows key and G key to bring up Xbox game bar to record any footage in game, thank you for your help.

Hello HellBus-2Claps, thank you for the update on this, we know that some of the holiday packs that were opened gave players skins for other operators instead of Ash's holiday elf skin, in particular one skin for Caveira. I apologize we have not been able to resolve this or add this content to players accounts, this issue is still under investigation and I am unable to say when this will be fixed.

This could be down to what region of the game you have and which edition of the game you have (Year Edition)

What edition and region copy of the game do you play and what region and edition do your friends play to confirm?

Hey him_1537, just to add to what what everyone else has already posted, the best way to observe your city without causing any issues would be to create a duplicate save and use that for observing what you have created.

You can force close the game through Task Manager, which would cause the game to not save, but please be careful when doing this, as I can not guarantee it would never corrupt a save file. Better safe then sorry!

This usually means the game is connected to either the wrong Steam account or the wrong Ubisoft account.

In order to help you find the correct one, you would need to get in touch with us through our support channels as we are unable to ask you personal identifiable information over the forums.

Please gather as much of the following information as possible as this will make it easier to locate your account -

Ubisoft username
Ubisoft email address or previous emails you may have used
Game you are trying to access
Any linked accounts such as PSN / Gamertags / Steam ID code / Epic ID code

Hello minhogu0826 and not_wargasmo thank you for sharing your workaround regarding having to install the Windows Media Pack.

To any other players that are facing issue with the game not launching and seeing a 'missing mfreadwrite.dll' error message, please follow the following instructions -

Windows Settings > Apps > Apps and Features > Optional Features > Add a Feature and find the Media Feature Pack in the list of available Optional Features, restart your computer.

Thank you for sharing your workarounds everyone, I will rename this thread so other players are able to spot this solution too.

Thank you for confirming this dakky22.

This issue was thought to have been resolved from update 10, the Docklands update and will no longer affect players in-game.

If you encountered this issue in-game, with a save file made pre update 10, the team investigating have asked players to reload another save from before demolishing the harbour in the Arctic or to start a new game for older saves. I apologize we have not been able to patch this out of your affected save file.

Hello ikibiki, thank you for contacting us about this quest line.

The Research Institute has two conditions you need to meet in order to unlock it -

The first one takes place within the story, if you decide to play the Enbesa story line, then the Research Institute will become unlocked when following the storyline.

If you decide to decline the story when you reached Enbesa and you don't have any story quests at all, you can obtain the Research Institute from gaining 1500 Elders instead.

Just to confirm, you do not have access to the Docklands DLC content such as the new buildings?

As well as this, you and your friends all purchased the Season Pass 3 content, but could you tell me if you all purchase the game and the Season Pass from the same store front such as Ubisoft Connect/Steam/Epic? If so, which one?

I would like to gather more details about this as we need to confirm if this is an entitlement issue or a bug.

As well as this would you possibly be able to send us one of your affected save files where you do not have access to this content?
