@smithies89 Hello there! I'm sorry to hear this has happened! I'd like to know if the issue persists after performing these troubleshooting steps for your platform. Additionally, I'd like to know if Guthrum stays stuck if you fast travel away, and perhaps complete a different mission?

Hey chronis2010, could you please try verifying your game files directly in Uplay and check if that solves the issue?
The check will detect any corrupted or missing files and redownload them.

If the issue persists, let us know

Do you have a Save before that you could try loading to see if the same thing occurs or if it's just in this latest Save?

Opal purchases cannot be reversed, they are permanent once made and are then on the account.

Hey pewp3wonline, as well as forwarding the ports and what you have already tried, there is a possibility of either you or your friend having double nat, but if this was the case it would affect most games you and your friend were trying to play together and as you have said this only seems to affect Anno 1800. There is also the possibility the save file may be corrupted.

Do you both play with mods and do you have many of the DLCs activated on your save?

My best advice would be to get in contact with us and make a support ticket. We will ask you what troubleshooting you have already done so please be specific, then we will ask you for a screen shot of your port forwarding settings. After that we can escalate this to our technical team to look at and advise. If no solution is then found, we know its either a problem with the game or a corrupted save file, so if you can I would also attach the save file to the case too.

@lorcanjpt Thanks for your reply! You can record on your mobile phone if you're unable to record on your console directly - the only thing I ask is that you ensure the full screen is visible and legible, and there are no reflections that might obstruct what the developers need to see (e.g. sun glare).

From what I know Stowe and Erke should be available to interact with at the villa after the quest, so if you can navigate there and show that they're either not present or you can't talk to them even if they are, that would be ideal. Thanks! 🙂...

Welcome to the forums. I have looked into this error and it is due to a visual library error. Normally updating Windows resolved this.

Can you check for any outstanding Windows updates please?

I don't think that I let the quest aside very long... I did it very shortly after it unlocked. Maybe I am too slow or something. Anyway, the game is amazing and I appreciate the team. I guess I am adapting to having Enbesa opened and seeing the AI behaving differently now as a result. I find it interesting that he completely abandons settling in the new world and opts for enbesa first. The other AI completely take over the new world and he is left with nothing.
