Thanks for providing this feedback and sorry to hear you experienced this in game. If possible could you confirm which game mode you were playing in while attempting to complete this challenge and we will certainly get this looked into further. Also, can you confirm that your friend / team mate was also not able to get this challenge completed.?

Our team looked into this and they determined this is not a defect. Due to some very tall buildings in that area, it's normal for you to break away from your pod so early.
