Well now it looks a bit better and is tied into draw distance to add more planes when set to the higher distances. Our artists definitely what to make better art for all plants, but that is more like A21.

A big part of it was separating the collision mesh from the visual mesh as this change describes:

"Optimized grass collider generation (Always 2 centered, fixed size and axis aligned planes)."

More complicated grass meshes do not need a more complicated collision mesh and their collision meshes should not stray into adjacent blocks like they did.

It does that too for the mesh. On the higher grass distances, you don't have 2 planes in a + pattern. It is 3 is an overlapping triangle.

And this: "Increased grass mesh variations to 192 (image, scale, rotation, cross/ring)."

No. We have a while to go yet, but lots of cool work is getting done.

I started working on some grass mesh improvements last week, since I have the time and I noticed the code. Hard to unsee code I don't like.

Make your way to your 7d2d config directory, the path will look something like this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Data\Config

Scroll down to the quests.xml // open with notepad (or whatever)

scroll down to the 7th starter quest in which you are awarded four skill points for creating a campfire (press ctrl + F and search for this:)

replace 4 with 270 (cannot remember the exact amount needed, something like 259 I think)

Then whatever world you begin when you create the campfire you'll get that many skill points instead of four. :MushroomRotA:

Slight correction to the phrasing used here. No one "has to" start over again. In case your server admin didn't mention it, he/she has the choice of updating, or staying in the current version / game. Updates are not forced on anyone. They are always 100% a voluntary choice.

Indeed. Following the pattern of previous alphas, expect Alpha 20 to be opt-in while it’s released as an experimental build, and then opt-out (e.g. manually roll back to A19) once it’s released as a stable build.

For someone seeking the most “finished” experience, I would definitely point them towards Navezgane. Personally, I love random world generation, because I enjoy exploration and seeing something new that even the developers have never quite seen before. But RWG is still going through major changes, and is thus less finished than Navezgane. You will get more oddities and nonsensical choices in RWG, for that very same reason that a developer has never looked at your particular seed.

Are you exaggerating? I don’t know how people get in that situation. It’s like we’re playing different games. If I haven’t invested in Healing Factor, I frequently find myself waiting for my hunger to go down more, so that I can use more of the random food I’ve looted and maximize the benefit to both my fullness and my hit points. Within the first week I have a full stack or more of meat and can almost live off of looted canned food. That’s with doing a ton of on-foot map exploring and playing with less than 100% loot.

Also, Rule 1: Cardio’s viability is already heavily slanted to the early game, perhaps to a fault.

It seems as though food consumption is the underlying issue in your experience, and I’m doubt... Read more

I have no fundamental objection to that, and I appreciate the desire for good organization. Those that really want the best chance for TFP to see their suggestions, though, are better off using the official forum, and the “Pimp Dreams” section in particular.

https://community.7daystodie.com/forum/9-pimp-dreams/

I’m moving this thread to Off Topic since it’s not directly about the game.

It should refresh the quest list next day with the new tier of quests. EG: if you finished tier 1 and got sent to trader 2, then next day trader 1 will have T2 quests.

If it's already been several ingame days without any quests at all at that trader, then it's a bug.

At the moment, sure; But those ARE the models that have been shown to be replacing the current models in A20. So. As Rasa said, "some of them have ... Read more

One- It provides an additional buffer for scenarios where you're short fuel supplies or if the generator runs out and you dont notice immediately.

Two- There is a solar generator in the game, that only produces power during the day.

There's prolly a few other things, but those come to mind immediately.

TAR is up to 3 round burst (if you keep M1 pressed), but you can do 1 or 2 bullet at a time as well. I believe you can also put that mod that allows you to fire as an automatic weapon, so yo...

There's nothing off. A20 is likely to come out faster than most of it's predecessor major-updates.

Most of the time, it's about 9 month to a year after the final stable version of the previous alpha that the new alpha hits. This is because they used to finish the current version before moving onto the next one EG: A15.4 comes out, 9-12 months later A16.0 comes out. Then little patches come until A16.4, and then 9-12 months and A17 comes out.

So, measuring by that stick, Since A19.5 stable came out in on May 28th of this year, It has been just shy of two months of development time. They say not in august, So that'll be a minimum of 3 months of development post-A19.5 stable. That leaves 6 months until they reach the lower bounds of the typical time taken.

This is because A20 has been in tandem development for a number of months prior to A19.5 stable being released, which is different from all the versions before it.

So no; There's nothing th... Read more

Chopping a big tree with a machete is not going to happen in RL. I mean sure, it´s propably possible, but that´s not what a machete is made for.

I say bring back the damage vs Z´s with the chainsaw. Seeing how you would call tons of screamers using it as your main weapon it wouldn´t even be OP imo.

Meh. Wood is wood now. That ship sailed a long time ago. Machetes should logically have a damage bonus versus wood, compared to a baseline of trying to hit it with the alternatives like a club, baton, knuckles, etc. If they wanted something that functions as... Read more

Contrast this with the machete. It should be good for chopping wood, because that’s a major thing (arguably the most important thing) machetes are designed to do. Instead it follows horror movie rules, where it’s only good for chopping bodies. So between that and the chainsaw, the game isn’t really obeying practical real world logic, nor horror movie logic consistently. It’s more categorizing one as a tool and the other as a weapon, and setting their stats accordingly.

Yeah, it's mostly because people have no clue what a gyro-copter is, and think it's a helicopter, which it isn't.

Most of the hate is basically because the hater doesn't know what they're talking about. Some other is because they just can't wrap their head around how the flight mechanics work, though this is largely because of the first reason.
