I just started tinking with virtual memory size on my nvme but no luck yet.

On a side not the other computer : 5950x , amd 6800xt and also 16gb of ram that the wifey uses has yet to max out and cause game problems.

could this be a brand/hardware specific issue?

1. Which trader are you buying ships from?
2. Are you using any sort of modes as for frigate you gain 4 points for military rating rather than 2?
3. What ships did you try to purchase (apart from frigate)?
4. Do you possibly have a save file that you could share with us for reproduction purposes?
