@highlander_dark Thank you for letting us know that you are experiencing this issue with not being able to speak to Sichfrith as well. What platform are you playing on and have you tried fast travelling away and back to the area to see if that will trigger the dialogue with her? Also, would you be able to provide a video from your gameplay that shows she is unable to be interacted with?

Hey And1988Mak, welcome to the forums Great to hear you're giving the Anarchist DLC a go, but sorry you're not getting the expected items from Hugo Mercier's refugees.

I'm not immediately sure if this is intended behaviour, - we've been looking into it, but have been unable to reproduce the behaviour you've described -would you be able to get me video footage or some screenshots showing these interactions? This will make it much more efficient for me to check this for you.

If possible, a save file from shortly before you didn't get the expected items would be ideal. Let me know if you have such a savegame, and I'll describe how you can get it across to us.

@garbo3 Thank you for confirming! Arathorn_ToXiK, if you have not already checked the Forward Camp chests as well (while having space available in your inventory), I suggest trying this location as well.

@arathorn_toxik Thank you for providing this video, and I appreciate your patience! The video doesn't show any chests or enemies when you arrive in Deebury. Previously you mentioned that when you approach loot chests they either cannot be opened, or you get nothing. Are you now not seeing any chests when you raid? Also, as I have seen a decent amount of reports stating that players found the Helm in Deebury, I've recently watched a walkthrough video where another player found it in a chest in the location 'Forward Camp' on the Rivier Dee. Thanks for reporting this to us, guys! Certainly difficult to play the game with the UI disappearing, so I'd really like to help.

For those who are able to, can you try running the game in DirectX 11, and see if this solves the issue? You can change this at:

%userprofile%\Documents\Anno 1800\config\engine.ini

And changing the line ("Device Type": "DX11",) to ("Device Type": "DX12",).

Does that seem to solve the issue? Let me know if so, as that'll be useful information to pass on to our devs for investigation.

In addition, if you can all be sure to verify your game files, and make sure your drivers, OS, and supporting files (such as DX, of course) are updated, as explained by our troubleshooting article, that'd be gr... Read more

Our teams are looking into some issues with freezing, and I'm keen to get some more data to share with them to aid in our investigation.

Please start by looking at our troubleshooting guide. I understand many of you have already followed some of it's steps, but if you could all make sure that you've:

• Verified the game files
• Updated your drivers and OS, and
• Don't have any unnecessary background programs running,

Hey everyone,

Really appreciate you all letting me know about these unusual freezes. That sounds most frustrating, and I'd like to investigate further.

Can you all start by having a look at our troubleshooting article? You'll find it here. In particular, make sure to update your drivers and OS, verify the game files, and since the freezes and crashes seem often to be connected to saving, try running the game and Ubisoft Connect with admin rights.

Let me know if that seems to improve the situation. If not, we'll be able to do some other stuff to diagnose the issue. Cheers all

Hey Luke25totalwar and Kirgos, welcome to the forums! Sorry to read you're both having these crashes at startup - I'd certainly like to help you troubleshoot this.

A power cycle is definitely a good troubleshooting step to start with! We've got a few more at our support article, found here - I understand you've already made sure your drivers and OS are up to date, Luke25totalwar, but please also verify the game files, and make sure you've not got background programs running which might conflict with the game.

I just checked the status of this issue and the development team were unable to reproduce it, I'm afraid. Can you please confirm the following:

  • Have you been doing any specific actions before the issue was encountered?
  • Where were you before the issue was encountered (England, River Raids, etc)?
  • Has upgrading the pouch resolved the issue?

Hey Roelspaced, thanks for joining in on this topic.

We don't have an official list of defeat conditions, but perhaps another player could point us to a user-made list.

We also don't recommend any particular third party programs for recording gameplay, simply because we don't produce any such programs ourselves. But if you are able to get us some footage of one of these seemingly random defeats, or if you've got a save file from shortly before one happens, that'd be most useful in our investigation.

Welcome to the forums, Vendrik90, and thanks for pointing this out to us And Fake-Empire too, that's very helpful. We'd been tracking an issue with the shark, and we'd deployed some fixes, so it's really unfortunate this hasn't solved the issue.

@Fake-Empire, would you be able to also get a save file across to us? It can be uploaded on any third party cloud storage service of your choice, just send me a link. Thanks so much.

In the meantime, I've passed this report on to our devs, along with Vendrik's save file. Thanks for that!
